Multilayer compression wrap for venous insufficiency wounds

I had a leg ulcer that I'd been trying to heal for several months and it was only getting worse. I finally went to the doctor and she sent me to the lymphedema clinic. After approx three weeks of multilayer compression done 3 times a week, my ulcer was completely healed. Completely healed! When I first went in, I'd nearly scream out in pain from just the air hitting my wound. I can't believe it's completely healed with fresh new skin in such a short time. Multilayer compression is truly a magic bullet! I recommend it for anyone struggling the same way I was with an ulcer!

I am currently experience a tiny ulcer myself, I have been putting on wrapping and compression socks for at least a few days now, but after watching the video and reading your commment I think I need to put on more layers for sure and go see a doctor, I been trying to do this on my own. I do have poor blood circulation in my lower legs and feet and I believe that is what caused it. I tend to sit around for to long and not get enough exercise. thanks for posting your coment so glad I saw it.

@@ExpressionGaminggo to a doctor , compression is for one type of ulcer that is venous origin, who knows if yours is arterial one or not? if it is, then compression will worsen and cause further reduced blood supply followed by necrosis of the tissues. it could be diabetic ulcer as well . get it diagnosed first.

Venous Insufficiency can now be cured or hugely improved, but it will have to be paid for. I’m from England and I paid at a specialist vein clinic for EVLT, TRLOP and Ultrasound Guided Foam Sclerotherapy. I haven’t looked back since 2018. Goodbye to those bliddy awful leg ulcer clinics.

I always thought one of those benches they have at shoe stores would be great for when you’re wrapping a leg. You know, where there’s a bench for the salesman and a sloped area for the customer to rest their foot.

Excellent. Thanks so much. The ulcers from venous insufficiency are very painful. What type of ointments or gel or anti microbial would you recommend? Systagenix was bought by 3m and the system is no longer available. Dynaflex was a great system. Thanks

Last time the wound care nurse put an unaboot on my leg. It was stuck in my wound badly. And when they were pulled off, it hurt like a S.O.B.

would good quality "compression socks" do the same job ?

It would be difficult. If the wound secretes a lot of «stuff» as he says, the conpression sock wouldnt be adequate to absorb all of that. If you apply an absorbant layer under and try to wear the c-sock it would just slide the absorbibg layer up the leg along with the sock. You have to wrap it. Compression socks are for leg swelling. Not leg swelling with wounds.
