In the case of reusing the function, I think having declared the function with default parameter values might make the approach of using parameters more convenient than an object right?

Yeah, whatever works, you can use defaults on destructured values too

What do you think about passing an object via props in react, instead of lots of individual props?

It depends, I like to pass individual props, but it depends on the structure of what I'm passing, both work well, but for objects I'm always more hesitant just because it can cause a re-render with the object reference changing
