Even if you did get it for free, who cares!?!? You put in the time and then share your knowledge. The rest of us then can make an informed decision and learn how to squeeze out performance from your experience. I bought my 20w fiber years ago blind. There were hardly any videos and a lot less laser companies. Due to health, I haven't lasered in about 2 years. Trying to jump back in and I'm amazed at how much more information and equipment is out there. That's because of people like you and companies getting their products out there. My first couple projects are better than what I was doing before the unplanned break. That's thanks to people like you. Before I end my rant let me reiterate. Who cares who gets what for free! Quit being jealous and instead be thankful that there is help out there and companies are willing to help those that are helping the community. Rant over. 🤣

Yes Jim, you just buy the upgrade license key for Lightburn for Galvo! As you see in the video, that's what I'm using. You don't need to do anything but buy the license key, click Help --> License management --> Deactivate the current key and then copy and paste the new Galvo key and click activate. You won't notice any difference until you connect to the fiber laser.

Hi Rich, thanks for this video. As usual very informative. I have a bunch of aluminum bracelet blanks from when I was doing punched engraving. These are not anodized aluminum blanks, and I was wondering if there is any way to engrave them. I have an OM3 with the new Comgrow 20-watt module. I've seen the marking sprays in Amazon but before I invest in that which is very expensive, I wanted the get your opinion. Thanks

Brilliant video, couple of questions I want to buy a fibre laser that can do detailed symbol images in copper, a bit like the intricate patterns ive seen people do on coins etc, what would be the best power / frequency laser to buy, I have been told JPT are one of the best brands as their frequency range is much broader than other makes. im thinking 30 watt or 50 watt

Good morning Rich, I'm new and learning about lazer machines, I enjoy your information. My question is, your 20w monport fiber lazer, is it a mopa? If not how are you still getting colors? I like to do tumblers, maybe plaques, an research other avenue. I'm a retired guy looking to stay busy doing hobbies. Thank you Dean
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Жыл бұрын
No it's not. You get colors whether you have a MOPA (JPT for instance) or a Q switched fiber like this one. The colors come from the 1064nm wavelength, frequency, speed and power. So where this laser can only get about 100 shades of six colors on the aluminum, the 100W JPT in the shop next door can get many more.

I bought a longer lasting tougher machine

Love your work Rich from Australia. Just a quick one. I have a different raycus 20w fiber laser from EM SMART. I've been testing settings for these cards as I got a few with the machine. It's actually an annealing process Bill. And while you can get one or two colors with a diode laser, it's painfully slow and the heat build up which is needed for the annealing can damage and warp the material, especially these .02 mm cards.. You've seen me do it other videos, but the time involved doesn't make it worth it. I can run 50 jobs on the fiber in the time it takes for one with the diode.

Rich, I don't think it should matter how you received the machine...You always do an honest review for your viewers. I don't think that you would suggest something or give it high reviews if you didn't like it. All my 3d printer people even have the company agree to an honest review if they get it shipped for free. It is called free marketing for the companies. I could see why you were annoyed.
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy
@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Жыл бұрын
I appreciate that Andrew. I actually have my own set of rules for a review, with total autonomy instead of their feedback. The manufacturers of the lasers don't have any idea what I'm publishing until it's up, and no options to change anything. Several have chosen not to work with me because of that.
