Multiple cops run for backup - Les policiers de Longueuil accourent 2/25/2014

Cet après-midi à 15h des policiers ont répondu à un appel dans un appartement au sous-sol du 839 rue Marquette à Longueuil. Une fois sur place ils ont demandé de l'aide en renfort. Une scène intense s'en est suivie et au moins 12 auto de police se sont rendu sur place en 5 minutes. Ils ont arrêté une femme et transporté un homme en ambulance. Un taser a été utilisé durant l'intervention.
This after-noon at 3pm police officers responded to a call in the basement at 839 Marquette Street in Longueuil. Once arrived on scene they requested help and at least 12 police cruisers rushed on scene within 5 minutes. They arrested on woman and transported one man via ambulance. A taser have been used during the intervention.

Quand les premiers policiers qui répondes à un appel et qu'il demande un back-up, la répartitrice lance un appel générale sur les ondes et tous les policiers disponibles doivent y répondent. Sincèrement, il est préférable que trop de policiers y répondent que pas assez. Et soyez assurer que le superviseur du quart de travail, réaffectent les policiers non nécessaires aussitôt la situation est maitrisées. Oui ça peut paraître spectaculaire, mais des appels de la sorte c'est très rares. Soyez assurer que si vous étiez policier et que vous receviez un appel de détresse d'un confrère, vous seriez les premiers a y répondent.

The official story here is that a 70 year old man was having a shouting match with his wife and a shovel in his hand. The couple refusing to open the door, the officers broke in, made him drop the shovel and lay on the ground. Then it gets weird! He manages to get up while being subdued and run at his wife and the other end of the apartment. They taser him and cuff him and THEN call for backup. While doing so his wife starts a shouting match with the officers and picks up the shovel threatening the officers. Those officers messed up on multiple levels : loosing control of a70y old subdued man, not removing the weapon, calling for back up much too late and then ... 12 cop cars at the start of rush hour!!!

Make that 60 year old and during the afternoon (2-3PM)... And, the made got to the ground when he was shown the taser but then rushed in the same direction of his wife. That's when they tased him. When the woman saw her husban down after being tased, she freaked out, took the shovel and begin to treathen the officers. That's when they called for backup. I don't know if the dispatch misunderstood the call, but I assume they send all available officer to them.
