Amazing content on this channel! Very crisp explanations. A playlist on machine learning topics such as Logistic Regression, Gradient Descent Optimization, PCA, SVM, Decision Trees, Multi-layer Perceptrons, feed-forward neural networks, etc would be amazing!

5:24 wow…I didn’t even know beta could occur in exponents….this is all very new, could you recommend some stats textbooks that are effective in covering higher order concepts

The dimension of the X matrix should be N x (P+1) . Since there are P features but we have an additional column consisting of only 1's.

But in linear regression we assume the relationship between features (x) and target (Y) is linear so WHY y = b0 + b1 x1 + b2 x**2 +e is linear regression model?

with respect to Beta yes, and we are looking for an estimation of the beta coefficients

Thanks for sharing this super content. Would love to know where you learnt maths? All the texts I've read seem to just assume too much and just present the final equations with little explanation - see Hogg and Craigs "Intro to Mathematical Stats" and you'll know what I mean.

I love Hogg and Craigs Textbook!! I have it at my desk. I studied at the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), and earned a PhD while studying at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development under Anindya Roy, Enrique Schisterman, and Paul Albert. I owe everything I know to UMBC and these three fabulous teachers.

why is the dimension of the matrix n*p instead of n*k?
@tvvt0055 ай бұрын
Because there is the column of 1s so there’s actuall k+1 columns which she earlier said was p
