5:09 - What parameters were used to create this? It looks just like the motion of grain boundaries (mean curvature flow with junctions). See e.g. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qGXHc6d8bLmVipI
@d3nt3913 жыл бұрын
There's different rules for multiple neighborhoods, meaning that sometimes a rule will be applied, and then overwritten by the next neighborhood. The amount of neighborhoods + neighborhood shape + neighborhood sizes + thresholds for birth and death are all changeable parameters as well.

Do you ever test how they interact with blockers or exclusion zones? what about multiple types in a neighborhood? fascinating stuff

I mean, if real "life" shows up, they could be interested or curios i guess?
@Slackermanz3 жыл бұрын
I've done tests with that, and it really all depends on how the blockers are programmed to interact with the patterns' energy distributions. Eg, if the blockers remove energy, the patterns might either bounce off or avoid them, but sometimes they get stuck like glue (which might happen in the case where they have "excess" energy to get rid of)

Why does everyone insist on uploading only a few seconds of each parameter set? Have you ever heard an otherwise flowing orchestral piece where every few seconds someone throws down a huge pane of glass? _Yeah, I wonder why not..._

Some kind soul should upload longer ones. The program to do it is free. You just gotta figure out how it works.

Is mentioning the KZbin compression algorithm the new "1 person missed the like button" comment? Seems as if only recently I get these compression comments. If you are serious, then as always, watch the video in the highest available quality. At 4K resolution this is pixel perfect without any compression blockiness.
