Multiple Sclerosis affects us both physically and mentally and sometimes when you have have a problem which causes you significant pain, it's easy to feel down and your mental state can suffer. In this video I am explaining an ongoing problem that I have had with my arm for over a year, where I have gone to seek help, and what has happened along the way including the most recent of treatments, a steroid injection.
I had a lot of set backs along the way with appointments being cancelled and never rescheduled, not being able to find out the route cause of my problem, having medication given to me that made me feel extremely sick, but I did not want to give up on finding out what the issue was.
I always spend so much time researching ways to help and things that I can do to get myself better and hopefully pain free. I want this video to let people know that even if there doesn't seem to be a solution to the problem initially - keep trying!
Keep researching, keep asking questions, keep looking for ways to help yourself. At some point something will work.
Three days ago I had a steroid injection to hopefully help relieve this pain in my arm that I've had for over a year. Here's hoping that I have finally got the answer to a long awaited question. I spent a year using alternative medicines to try and get me through this bad time with my arm, unfortunately it didn't work and there are some times when you need to try the scientific approach if there isn't any other option.
I will keep you posted on the progress, thank you to everyone who watches and shares my journey. I hope that my videos continue to help you.
Laura

Thanks for not giving up and sharing this. Hopefully, you're continuing to heal. Also, I recently watched a Terry Wahls video which shows the improvements that are possible when diets are modified. Please view her videos. Hope your hand gets back to 💯% functionality.

Hi Chris, yes I know about the Terry Wahls diet, I have read up a little bit on this as I was really interested in the Roger Mcdougall MS diet. Thank you for your kind comments 🙏

Hi Laura, I've watched videos on Black Seed Oil which mentioned how effectively it treats MS and a multitude of ailments. Perhaps, that can be useful for you. Similar to you, my left hand has limited range of motion. I can make a fist and move my fingers, but cannot bend my wrist towards my body how I can with my right hand. Wow! I'm wondering, did the cortisol injection correct your hand issue?

Hi Chris, ooh I haven't heard of black seed oil but I've just looked it up and it does seem to have many benefits. Looks like I can buy this in my local Holland and Barratt too and I'm open to trying it. Sorry to hear about the problem with your left hand, have you tried anything to help your problem and if so has it helped? It's been over a month now since I had the cortisol injection but to be honest there's not much improvement in my arm. I'm currently having physiotherapy with a muscle /tendon! /nerve specialist so I'm hoping this will have some benefit 🤞

Oh yeah, when pain killers don’t work, I usually end up having to take an oral steroid or another anti-inflammatory med (such as Ketorolac or Diclophenac). MS is truly a journey. Good luck Laura!!!

Hi Jennifer, isn't it just! I've not heard of Ketorolac or Diclophenac, the last oral tablet I had given to me was methylprednisolone and that was to treat my optic neuritis. Thank you very much 💕

Hi Jennifer, l was recently diagnosed this year. Since then ,I've watched dozens of videos on MS. Dr. Terry Wahls has videos that encourage diet changes as a healer. Wim Hof has recommendations too. Dr. Terry went from a wheelchair to walking. Consider watching her videos. Also, vitamins D3 B-12 and the supplement turmeric seem to help. Although, I've tried the capsules only, black seed oil is said to treat MS effectively. I think the Black Seed Oil capsules have benefited me some. There's KZbin videos that mention the positive effects BSO has for autoimmune conditions. Lastly, exercise and sunlight 🌞 are meant to be useful too as well as intermittent fasting. This condition is complicated. It has symptoms of a few disease. However, faith, the right wellness therapies seem to hold promise. I watched a video Saturday that mentioned that many common prescription medicines showed no significant improvements. Ever person is different , I'm sure. We must try to find the right recipe for our unique make up and try to Live well and keep fighting. 🙏

@@chriswilliams7824 Yes, Dr Wahls is AWESOME!!!! Black Seed Oil is definitely a GOD send. I can absolutely tell a difference in my day when I take it. I take the liquid form, yucky but effective. My biggest problem is consistency. I can do so well for days and then eat something horrible like pie or pizza. I need to work on my self control when it comes to food. When I eat bad, I feel bad 😞

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LAURA!!!!🎂👻🎃 I'll also be turning 40 in december. Damn....what happened to my 30s. Every decade seems like it goes by quicker then the last.😒😁 As horrible as the pain and issues your dealing with in your hand is, It's great that your using the pain and fustration for strength to NOT give up the fight💪 To deal with consistent, unexplainable, debilitating pain is one thing but the toll it takes on your mental well-being is alot worse in my opinion. I find you inspiring in the way your handling your MS, BRAVO!!!!👏 I hope that your hand gets better and the pain goes away. 😴😴😴 I'm in the middle of getting my Ocrevus infusion today. 3 hours left. When I get out of this infusion center my nephew wants me to take him trick-or-treating🎃🍬🍫🍭👻 When I get home I need alot of coffee and my zombie make-up. I'm so tired💤but I got to keep my promise As always...Thank you for another great video Laura. 👍🎃👻🎂😘😉😴

Hey and thank you for the birthday wishes, I had a great day and yes I agree the decades definitely seem to go by so much quicker! I hope you have some lovely plans for your 40th in December. I hope the rest of your ocrevus treatment went well and that you will be feeling better from having your infusion. I didn't used to know how to manage things, its really only over time that I've learnt but I've always been a fighter and someone who won't give up, I think you definitely need that mind set with MS (MS = Mustn't Stop) 😊Thank you for your lovely kind comments as always. Did you get to go trick or treating with your nephew? If so I hope you both had a fun time 🦇🎃🎃. Take care of yourself and get plenty of rest now after that infusion 😊

I’ve had this same pain and it was diagnosed as tendinitis. I had a couple steroid injections in my hand and it was very painful. But it took 2 treatments and I had 20 years pain free after that. Don’t give up. Stay strong. 💕

@@lauraironstalksms Yeah it’s one of those things with injections like that. You just never know if you need another and if it’s worth it. I think I just got lucky. I’ve had them in my back but my hand was so much more painful. I don’t know that I’d get another lol. I do know with some nerves you can get an ablation where they effectively cut the nerve to stop the pain. Just an alternative.

If you have asked me two years ago I'd have done almost anything as I was that desperate 😊 it's funny as you don't forget the pain and what you went through but it does become a distant memory, one which you don't want to repeat. If it ever happened again though I would be more prepared and thank you for mentioning the ablation.. I'd never heard about it before but honestly I've learnt so much from others who pass help on from here and their experiences. I think it works for some people and others not as well, like my mum had a steroid injection in her foot and unfortunately it didn't help her. So pleased for you and I hope it only continues to feel good for you 💜

Happy Halloween Laura! 🧟‍♂️🧟‍♂️🧟‍♂️ Thank you for sharing your update. I hope you get some relief soon. I don't know if you've used one or seen them but can I suggest a 'Power Ball' to help exercise your wrist - something like this www.ebay.co.uk/i/283713581753?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28 My wife has pain in hers and occassion wears her brace to sleep. The ball has helped her. Take care

The link to the one you sent me was out of stock, so just got one off amazon (took advantage of the last 2 days of my prime 😁) so I'll be in competition with myself a lot sooner than I thought ha. I've had recent physio which has actually been positive, but this week has been bad again.. Roll on the power ball!!! Thanks for sharing
