I think he is an Upper Middle Range narcissist. JBL sounds like an Upper Lesser Type B (loud, bully). Vince McMahon is a Greater narcissist. The difference between the middle, the lesser, and greater is that the greaters like Vince have self-awareness. They know what they are, and they know games must be played - master manipulators. We see this with Jim Cornette when he describes Vince as using "Jedi mind tricks" to control his staff. Middle Range Narcs like Punk DONT know what they are, unlike the Greaters, but DO operate with a facade like the Greaters and hide behind a well-intentioned, good guy persona. The Lesser narcissists do not operate with a facade, very little charm. They are quite rudimentary and instinctual. They have a shorter fuse and can resort to violence to control - what you see is what you get.

Vince surely felt Punk vs. Cena wouldn't sell as good as Rock vs. Cena, and reasonably so. The latter was going to be something fresh for the fans. By the same token, Punk coming to UFC was also something viewed as fresh by Dana White and as more intriguing to the fans than some random low-card fighter would have been. Money talks, what can you do!

@@mtvta1981 I'm not a fan of Punk, and my opinion could be wrong. I've always looked at it that someone who took it seriously and trained and went through two training camps to fight in UFC could probably take at least 50 percent of most wrestling locker rooms and 80 percent of people who talk about him online. He got his ass handed to him twice, but it was by two professional fighters. Even the lower levels of MMA fighters would be in the top tenth percentile when it comes to fighting ability.

While Punk clearly has some major flaws, some of the criticism levied is pretty sad. Booker dropping his rubbish because someone suggested they be respectful doesn't make him look good, and certainly goes against the logic of elders being the leaders. The whole logic surrounding heavyweight champions only being the big guys is also dumb. The Great Khali was huge but could barely move. How's him being champ more believable?

For someone who’s made his career in an industry where you have to market and advertise yourself through your personality and charisma, he doesn’t appear to have the level of self awareness one would expect him to. His AEW shoot for example, he comes across as bitter, spiteful, and feeling sorry for himself. That’s really the only narrative he got across, albeit unintentionally. Burying everyone around him on a profanity laced tirade while insisting he’s done nothing at all to deserve the treatment he’s claiming to be receiving. It’s like if you have a problem with everyone maybe you’re the problem, not everybody else. It’s that “everyone’s just jealous of me” mentality. Came across as less than charming, to say the least. But there’s been many stars over the years who’ve been more successful than Punk who are to this day respected by the majority of their peers and still over with the fans and who’ve managed to not get involved in nearly as much backstage drama which in Punk’s case was mostly aired out in the public by him. He also had no shortage of opinions on his peers and the industry and isn’t shy about sharing his opinions so it can’t just be chalked up as jealousy as to why he’d have backstage issues

I don't like punk but I believe he was talking to rob as a veteran to be there with him or back him up, Like at a job discussing stuff but I'm sure he was trying to hard to get over. Also rob was talking trash about rip hawk recently. I believe he has a super huge ego of himself. Hawk would kill you then and maybe now rob

the only thing i myself disagree with is the comments about the physical build of the world champion. a world champion to me is someone who can carry a brand, do media and meet and greets, and put on bangers with everyone they come in contact with. (guys like rey mysterio, seth rollins, sami zayn and others) do that without having to be hucked as fuck. i get what you're saying but nowadays for us it's more about those factors then about the build. i cant speak for everyone but i do see what you are saying 100% too :)

Can't blame them I mean his WWE champions run was boring and stale he failed in impact and they give anyone the title lol

I remember reading a comment that during his year-plus long championship reign, out of like 13 or 14 PPVs, he only main-evented 2, and even those were only because they were with like Cena or another star

I am surprised no one has started the “OVERRATED” “LOCKERROOM POISON” chant when CM Punk takes up room in the ring. Not sure why CM Punk isn’t taken a notch or two down for his egotistic shenanigans. UFC embarrassment, the debacle at AEW, his terrible acting, and coming back to WWE with his tail between his legs. What a joke!

Bullshit. He’s had multiple concussions and “looking at himself in the camera” WTF? It’s not his fault if he looks a bit dazed at times. Go become an asset instead of a liability that you are to society. Easy to lead a miserable life where you are dependent on others and are ill-willed and minded.
