It s even more than a rat race. It s modern slavery. I am really at the end of my tether right now. This kind of work is so gruelling that the only will I have is to fall asleep when I am back.

Having watched plenty of your videos before, I can imagine that very well :D. Yes, that was quite crazy... but on the other hand, I don't know if I had quit if the hours were more bearable. Welcome to the channel! That feeling is completely normal. If you didn't feel any fear, something would be wrong! Fear helps us to be alert and avoid making the wrong move. That being said, everyone can leave the rat race (at some point) with serious planning.

Excellent - truly excellent- video! I am working on year 29 of lawyering and I've been tired of the grind for 19 years! Best years of our lives are spent building an empire; that period is followed by wishing most of it would go away=quiet desperation. I am entering the "quitting the rat race" part of my life, and it is certainly not an easy transformation. Thank you for your good works here!

Define purpose. Basically you don't take pride in what you're doing because it is not your company. You are serving their purpose. It would seem that you need your own company to serve your purpose.
@MultipleCareers
@MultipleCareers 10 ай бұрын
I define purpose as the reason one does something, the end of the means. You sell insurance policies at a company, why? Is your purpose to get rich, to tell yourself you're helping people, or perhaps, is there no purpose at all? You're right, in most cases, if you've defined a specific purpose and want to achieve it, you need to start your own endeavour.

Imagine doing your job like this until retired. Is there anything else you can do more for free, to survive on lesser paid job/hours? Eventually I'd say quit. You can make more satisfaction collecting and selling mushrooms or berries at summer, one can see a sunlight, and sell this stuff for good money. Might be better for you.

Even when one is gone from work desk, I still needed to hear this. There is no hurry back, when you find your meaning in life. I want to help people for free! It's again so much snow out here, tomorrow morning when snow coming ends, I will remove all the snow not only for my house, but to the next one too. She is disabled. She never asked me to do that, but it helps. I don't need money, piece of cake she prepared once was enough. Even if she wanted to give me money, I'd refuse to take any money for it. It's crazy world we live now, when everyone expects instant return on their investment. We need more money to have more... stuff. We have more stuff and less money. If people only recognised the freedom of just living the moment. We wouldn't live at our jobs forever!

I love this video so much, it's exactly why I did quit my job 2 years ago. I am astonished if someone is at work 9-9. You said it. I did quit my job 2 years ago because I found out money didn't make me happy. I, like you, wanted free time and some cheap or free adventurous trips on my bike :) I could sit at job working 12 hours making big money, but what's the point in that when you have absolutely nothing to buy? Or the very least you have no time to spend that money on let's say nice adventures! When you have your vacation, it's barely enough to get your lost power back. We are not powerbanks or robots, they should stop consuming us with long hours. No one wants to retire so tired, that they are barely alive. When you need less, you can live more. I can live under 750 euros a month luxuriosly. No point to work for more money.

Those are some great ways (except for the of that I'll strongly discourage but I guess it was a joke! lol). The important thing is to build up a career freedom fund (like an emergency fund that gives you freedom to pivot in your career and buys you time) and alternative income sources so you don't have to stay in the rat race. The ultimate way is of course, achieving FIRE.
