Hi Jon. Firstly, let me thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. I am new to building and your videos have helped me immensely with my learning process. For me bass building is just to try and build something that i would actually play more than anything that I previously owned. I appreciate your no-nonsense approach and the way you question any process that doesn't need to be done. I would love to see a video on how to wind a humbucker for bass. I have searched KZbin and the only video for bass is a stacked pickup but that video has no audio. What we need is a video from started to finish on magnets selection, wire, wire winding directions, magnets placement and direction etc. Something simple and easy for a novice to start winding. Everything I have seen is based on buying fender style flatworks for P Bass or J Basses. Most of us would never buy a Mojotone winder. After watching your previous single coil video I was inspired so I sat there with my drill in a vice and wound a single coil pickup that I love. But I need a humbucker now. Thanks again for all your efforts. You are an inspiration mate.

A brilliant idea! With a shim (the same thickness as the fingerboard blank) at each side of the fingerboard to support the outer edges of metal scale templates you could align them where the actual fingerboard edge will be, making the scale lengths even more accurate. The scale templates could even be secured by screwing them to the fingerboard, outside the required fingerboard area. I want to build a multiscale electric, hope you don't mind me copying your idea (personal guitar; not for resale!)

Yea. I just shim the fingerboard. And you can easily figure out the general template compensation to use it this way and be more accurate. Also the scale on the treble side gets bigger not smaller. And depends on the fan too. Haha. Yea. You could sell Adair few templates like this and the blocks are all you need. I think it’s a great idea. I’ve used it for every multiscale I’ve ever made. 🙏

Beautiful video in terms of knowledge!✨ Thank you very much dear mate. 🙏 I can send you on Instagram a different way to build a mitterbox, but yours I admit is brilliant! 🎉🤌✨

Farking brilliant I would add. ✨ For your knowledge Jon I would be happy to leave my London and come down there to become your apprentice at your workshop. ✅

I just threw these together but I’d love to see nicer setup. I do like the fact I can just throw these in a draw. And I’m just too lazy to change them. :) 🙏

Two things: you should have mentioned the fretboard must be already tapered and you will produce a little error caused by the pins are not on the edge of the fretboard, but otherwise a very cool design 👍🏻

Yes the pin location is a bit tricky. You can work a general compensation in to each template. I made these scale templates before I really understood the operation.
