Mum gets an Alienware 14 Laptop (2013)

Diana's old Toshiba laptop just wasn't cutting it... She needed a powerful laptop and boy did she get a fantastic replacement. Watch the video to find out what laptop she got ;)
The mother in this video uses Windows 8.0 (2012) as her main os however she has installed the classic shell due to her Metro Hate. Rich in my opinion is when you have a high enough passive income to live off so you don't have to have a day job. If we were rich I'd quit my job and develop my game ShiftOS full time for free as well as work on getting OSFirstTimer episodes up faster. I'd also buy the real systems the operating systems come on such as old Macs and Amiga computers to make the testing more realistic. They could then be giveaways to OSFirstTimer subscribers once each episode is done. But sadly we aren't rich and have full time jobs limiting us from doing what we really want...

They are indeed overpriced, however they are well build (esp the macbook pros) . I used a 17" pro in some harsh experiments, and it lasted over 4 years of non stop work. Never experienced any lags or problems running it full time. but it still doesn't justify the high price. Now, i just use $400 Toshibas that get replaced every other year. they get the job done for much less.

Yes this is known as a gaming laptop and I doubt she games, but she got a high quality powerful laptop with good battery life for what she'll do. It doesn't look like they're terribly poor so best value wasn't a big issue. My neighbor who is in her 60s bought a new mustang, no she doesn't need the horsepower but she enjoys it and the grandkids think its really cool so she is happy. Maybe Diana's kids, students, friends at work or whatever will be impressed with her new laptop and she'll get a kick out of that. Good for her

It's an infrared light which is so fast you cant see it with the naked eye but the camera is just lots of photos every second so it slows it down enough to see its normal

The thing is, Win8 writes all active processes and stuff into a file on shutdown and then just loads it into the RAM on boot :) So it's not faster but smarter :)

On the iphone it is an ir light that combined with a ir light sensor can detect if the phone is in close proximity to an object that is not transparent to ir. The reason your camera can see it is because most camera sensors are also sensitive to ir light, but have a filter to block it so the sensor only picks up visible light. This is why you could see it throught that camera but not others or your eyes

Alysha Hana Hard to be jealous when anyone with half a brain can build their own gaming system that can run games on 1080p Ultra for under $500, a system almost a third of the price that could walk miles against any Alienware laptop in terms of performance. Also, you can buy higher quality gaming laptops made by GIGABYTE or MSI for under $1000. To be honest though, mobile gaming is pretty stupid right now, I'd rather spend half as much for a gaming desktop I built myself that would actually be worthwhile and allow me to play the most demanding games at full 1080.....But that's just me.... I honestly don't understand why anyone would buy a gaming laptop that they'd possibly use only on vacation or to go somewhere.....

two years too late but the flashing you see on the iPhone is an infrared (In-fra-Red) light. You cannot see infrared with the naked eye, but something that goes on with the camera makes it able to be seen.
