Hey guys, be sure to check out the end of this video to see if any of your comments from episode 1 of the podcast were featured (remember, we sadly don't see them all, but we did see quite a few). Comment on this video now to potentially (low chance, but hey, gotta be in it to win it) have your comment seen in the next episode (episode 3). Remember I don't reply to comments on this podcast series via text as I like to keep the comments a surprise for the live reactions :)

Question for the next episode, but have you guys considered doing a redux of the (unfortunately infamous) “Top 3 Best & Worst OS’s” video now that the channel has been around for as long as it has? I’m sure it’d be a fun nostalgia trip for the long-time subscribers :) As a little side note, I’ve been a subscriber and part of the OSFirstTimer community since I was around 8 all the way back in 2013, and have always remained a huge fan of the channel ever since. Your videos helped me gain a greater understanding of different OS’s (Linux was still a relatively foreign concept to me at the time), as well as helping me figure out my channel's direction - and I've seen moderate success with the channel because of it. I’ve met most of my online friends in one way or another through you and your community, and I still consider many of them my greatest friends to this day. It’s really awesome to see that you guys still have a passion for educational-comedy-tech content after all this time and I hope it continues for many years! :) P.S. hoping that Ben makes a comeback appearance on the channel :P

Sadly I feel like reviving the Top 3 best and worst operating systems for a sequel would be a bad idea because she has tried so many that it would be impossible to compare them all. Dad tries out returning would be nice, although it's been a very long while since he last tried an operating system. I believe the request to reach out to Phil again was the exact reason why the now renamed Bits and Bytes Discord server exists (previously called AstralPhaser Central) because he had so many people that wanted to talk to him, but sadly he distanced himself from that due to all the drama, which I don't blame him for. I know for me in particular I'm always trying to be one of the first people to comment on the latest KZbin video he uploads as quickly as I can (even if it's not related to the topic at hand) because that's essentially the only form of communication I have with him (and I'm sure many others feel the same way). Managing over 108 thousand comments across multiple videos, let alone replying to them, is however realistically implausible.

11:11 I actually loved that you encountered random problems in the mentioned series back in the day, especially since I was into Linux myself at the time. It was great to see you progressively trying to make everything work and tackle Linux-specific challenges. I enjoyed it and felt a bit sad when it stopped. I watched it a long time ago, though, so my memories might be better than the actual content. Still, I just wanted to say it wasn’t so bad for me that I’d avoid recommending it. The challenging path is what made it good.

@winelectronic10111 күн бұрын
Maybe if they weren't disguised as real operating systems (because she did figure it out by the time she tried out 93). The problem I find with most of them is they tend to include a lot of copyrighted music and NSFW content not suitable for KZbin. Looking at you, Windows XP Version 19.914. Although keep in mind that Flash no longer exists, so they'd need BlueMaximus Flashpoint to use those.

Hello. It’s been an entire hour since I witnessed Diana’s horrific jumpscare, and I am now recovering in hospital after having a terrifying heart attack. I am recovering quickly, but if I get jumpscared again, say in the next video, I may not make it. Lol in all seriousness I certainly did over exaggerate a tad in the comment for sure, I was just rather excited. Thanks for answering my question! I do have another question. As a Canadian, I’m rather intrigued with the temperature of Australia and how hot it is there. I do recall you folks checking out some snow (though in canada what you saw would hardly be called snow lol) for the first time, which made me wonder: What is the coldest, and hottest temperatures you have ever endured? Where were you and what were the circumstances? And finally, have you seen any more snow since your first encounter?
@winelectronic1017 күн бұрын
Iirc Tasmania is the coldest Australian state, but in Sydney, you could expect temperatures up to 113 degrees Fahrenheit. In fact, it is so hot that the tar melts. In extreme cases, children don't go to school when it gets too hot, like in America if it's too cold or filled with a bad winter storm, schools are closed.

Wow!! Thanks for reading my comment! I was so excited that you were gonna read comments I just quickly said something (which is actually true lol) But I actually first discovered you guys on mum tries out windows 1.0, but not when it was released, maybe around late 2014, I love your videos so much, even the vlog videos, the Tasmania vlog, I cannot stop watching it, and there are so many other videos that just make my day better when i see your guys' videos, another favourite of mine is TerrifiedMum, my favourite video on that channel is the one where she plays watch dogs, that video was really funny for me and I really enjoyed it, I can actually remember watching it back in like 2016, 2017 somewhere like that, you guys are really awesome and you guys really really REALLY deserve more than 100K Subs, my message to you, Diana, Ben and Jazzy is the state positive everyday of your life, and enjoy it until the end ❤ OSFT FOR LIFE!!!
@winelectronic10111 күн бұрын
While my comment wasn't read in the last video, I was shocked at how many of my replies were read out. I remember the TerifiedMum channel, and I kept watching the Portal video over and over, despite the fact that Diana was clearly struggling with the game. I remember someone recommended she try Portal 2 in the future, which I would have to agree that it's much more story driven rather than bland like the first game. But one thing I'm really pushing for is The Stanley Parable. Whether that's the 2011 mod, the 2013 source version, or the 2022 Ultra Deluxe version, I really think they should give it a try, as it's a unique experience in terms of gaming and the way it is executed. I will not tell you what it is about because that would directly spoil the fun of the game. It's best to go into the game not knowing what to expect.

I was always interested in knowing: How often did it occur (if ever) that Microsoft or any other OS/Software developer contacted you about a video, and what was that mostly about then?
@winelectronic10111 күн бұрын
Apparently Microsoft did at least once, as it's stated in the Mum Tries Out Windows 10 Build 9841 video that the video on Windows 8 helped them do things like add a close button to metro apps in Windows 8.1 Update 1.

My questions for the next video: 1. Is there something in particular, that makes Diana stick with Windows? As someone, who seems to mostly use Apple products, I kinda expected her to use a Mac. Would she be willing to try out an actual Mac if she had the opportunity? 2. In "Mum tries out USU Linux", Diana mentioned her mother was Croatian (and she even said "Good morning" in croatian). Can she recall other things, her mother taught her in that language or does she want to learn it herself eventually? Btw, I'd like to say thank you for your work. Your videos are just amazing and very entertaining to watch. I stumbled across it when I was around maybe 12 or 13, when I was on a craze to look for videos about the history of Windows and found your Longhorn video (I'm 25 now). Keep up your good work 👍🫶

Hi! I found your KZbin channel back in 2012 from a review of elementaryOS as I wanted to try out Linux as a young teen at that time but struggled to understand how the interface worked at the time. Your review helped in opening my mind to the possibilities of Linux. I continued following your channel over the years and had graduated as a Software Engineer. Now, I work as both a Software Engineer and DevOps Engineer; maintaining Linux servers and writing code to support the company's infrastructure. In many ways, your content played a key role in sparking my interest and setting me on the path toward my current career. So a huge thank you to y'all! I've been enjoying the pivot towards exploring AI with an open-minded approach. My question are: 1. What is your stance on the current state of AI and the backlash surrounding it? 2. As well as, a question to Phil, do you regret to be not working in the IT field? or do you find more satisfaction working as a caretaker? 3. Since you're open about your family life on the channel, do you ever worry about privacy, or is it something you’ve found easy to balance?
