Hey guys, hope you all enjoy this episode. We tried out Gemini Live first (to show why ChatGPT Advanced voice mode is better) followed by ChatGPT Advanced voice mode with all the crazy voices. If you stick around to the bonus at the end you'll see us try out the new Copilot that does all the voices and accents like ChatGPT Advanced voice mode does (but for free rather than with a monthly cost), but you'll see how poor/glitchy it is. We also try out Meta's Voice mode too at the end :) IMPORTANT: Diana states "that's what indians do" in the video, this was not what she meant to say, she meant to say "that's what indian scammers do".

this reminded me of the time Diana tried Siri on iOS 7, can't believe that was a decade ago 😅 And here we are, 4o voice capabilities are unlike anything. Let's see if the Smart Siri in iOS 18.1 comes any closer, especially with GPT integration coming later as well

It is capable of sound effects (and sometimes they slip through) but OpenAI have trained it to reject making non-vocal sounds. It’s actually supposed to tell you it can’t make sound effects instead of just stopping, but that thunder sound effect was great!

Yea, I burst out laughing when I heard it do an aussie accent for the first time as well, this was off camera for 5 minutes a week prior to filming with Diana. So amazing, I can't wait till local models I can run on my own pc can perform at that level or better!

Yea, that really freaked me out! Like, it went off script, either it made a mistake (like a human) or it intentially went off script (like a human). Robots don't do that... Creepy as.

It's not that out of the ordinary. If you ever used transformer-based text to speech models, it happens not rarely that they can miss a word or several. Sometimes their alignment between text and audio just desyncs. You can get similar if you use Suno and it will skip parts of a phrase, or say instructions in square brackets out loud, or invent entirely new sections of lyrics without them even being in the prompt, etc.

Diana was heartbroken when her friend moved back to Delhi in 1989 and Diana has since been trying to locate her but has not been successful. She would be aged around 52 now and her name before marriage was Gayatri Dube. Posting this just incase anybody knows this person and link this friendship again.

What's funny is how the AI is stereotypical when it tries to do an accent or mimic how someone talks with an accent :P Regarding French, they actually never say "ouh la la* with this intonation or as frequently as people may think -- this is more for frustrating or sad moments where something has gone real bad in a situation. Italian is probably the worst in my opinion, the AI threw every cliché card that it had in its drawer haha

@@OsFirstTimer Yeah, I guess this shows that stereotypes are (still) very present on the Internet, or at least in the training sets that people use to produce LLM models :] Speaking of AI, have you heard of HuggingChat? I use this over ChatGPT as it has pretty much all of the features of the Premium version, but free for all! You can also input your own system prompts, choose the model that you like and select which data sources you want the model to use before responding :]

Yeah, the Italian one was really stereotypical with the way it did the accent, even the prompt was pretty stereotypical because pepperoni pizza isn’t commonly eaten in Italy (the closest type of pizza we have to pepperoni is diavola, with spicy salami) Also, as someone who grew up in Ireland, the Irish pirate sounded more Scottish, but Ireland has a huge variety of accents so maybe it’s just one from a different part of Ireland to where I’m from. I’m curious as to whether the accents would be more accurate if you asked for it to do an accent from a specific part of a country rather than just the country itself (e.g., a Kerry accent rather than an Irish accent) (Not hating, I thoroughly enjoyed this video, just wanted to share some fun facts)

It was very hard to sync up, It constantly went in and out of sync, I adjusted the audio positioning 20ish times thoughout the video because at different points it moved back and forth, that's the downside about this kind of video with 2 audio sources.
