@OsFirstTimerАй бұрын
Key piece of advice here ;) Don't search for happiness in what you can own, experience or dream of having... Instead, think of how you can bring happiness to others and be content with not wanting more, but enjoying what you can achieve with what you have. If you're going through something bad right now, I wish you the best in pushing through it :)

Another fantastic video! I’ve been following your channel for a while, but I’ve never seen this many uploads all at once! Quick question: what do you use to emulate these operating systems? I was thinking about starting with UTM. I’m asking because I’d love to do something similar with my cousin. He’s only familiar with finding Roblox on the computer and plays it, and I think it would be fun for him to try out different OSs and it would it a fun challenge!

I use VMWare for the majority of OSFirstTimer operating system videos, however, some operating systems require their own emulator, for example that Apple Newton OS video we did not too long ago.

The only thing holding back this OS from big adoption is the devs refuse to update the ancient UI.

7:37 That is true, I regretted buying my VA monitor all the time and the smeariness it brought, especially for gaming. I finally bought an IPS when my VA monitor randomly faded white and started showing colorful lines in the middle of playing a game.
@OsFirstTimerАй бұрын
I kept my 2015 monitor until 2023, so this one will probably be with my till 2031, a tough lesson but I'll forever be putting people off VA monitors so they don't make the same mistake :P
@proximiteaАй бұрын
@@OsFirstTimer my va monitor was also cheaply built and only lasted 3 years from buying it new to it dying, which is both bad that I had to buy a new monitor but good that I could give myself an excuse to buy an ips
@OsFirstTimerАй бұрын
@@proximitea Haha, IPS at 43inch, 4k, 144hz was too expensive, thus why I went with VA in 2023, I wanted the monitor to be under $1,000 (australian dollars) and quite a few were over $3,000 so I just cheaped out, probably won't be able to get an IPS with these specs under $1,000 until 2030 anyway :P

@suntannedduck2388Ай бұрын
Great look at it. Ah visuals vs backend that users don't know about like a website with so much assets then code form scale & like React OS take time to make they aren't a big group or different status like a Microsoft/Apple. Yeah Pe, personal exercise book? Paste and edit? Pencil and Eraser? Or just Pencil short form? Irs not a periodic table element either to align with. XD Yeah traffic lights or Box, Line, X really were good ideas. Yeah app highlights on the taskbar or naming it is a big deal. Ah saving where it goes. I never knew how to glue apps its much more clear in other OS but cool it's a feature. I'll have rto try that. Not used the infinite app might have to look for it. Notes or something else would have been better. Or writing pad or so. Jot down book or something. I think it's a fine OS but some things take a bit of getting used to I still have yet to learn with it and besides a Haiku account or any accounts how limited OS can be. I've never used Be OS prior but it seems alright Haiku, and finding the downloads even was confusing to me while Linux was that bit more straightforward so as learning OS to switch to and put in VMs or maybe on an underpowered laptop it's been interesting. From central view to what some things look like of a start menu or too crowded in the top right of too many elements while Windows its all along the bottom or better spaced out then crammed (unless move taskbar to sides/above) or the small yellow box inside a longer yellow box. Its a bit confusing at first for sure. I still have a long ways to go learning it's folder structure and other things and trying apps outside the demo environment.

i have used many operating systems over the years from the WIN3.1/DOS days up to current. i today use Mint with Plasma GUI on all my systems.. i have seen many Haiku videos these last 2 years and remember trying BEos when it came out.. so now 2 decades later and you still have NO support for any 3D graphics .. kinda think that would be a deal killer for any chance of being a daily driver in this day and age..im not saying it would need to run anything fancy like a NVIDIA RTX but come on how about basic Vulcan , Glide or Open GL .. it kinda makes it a instant choice to use Linux if someone is looking for a Windows alternative.

Honestly it's kinda refreshing to see a still maintained non-linux based OS (excluding Windows and Mac of course), I think that Linux is great and has done wonders for Open Source and privacy but it's popularity kinda killed the popularity and potentional of other FOSS operating systems and made them irrelevant. It'd be nice to see Diana try one of the many BSD based operating systems such as FreeBSD, OpenBSD or NetBSD.
