I think Jason was just trying to do something different from what the others were doing, his first turn wasn’t terrible, he just didn’t match what the others did.

@@muman717 I know other guys are fabulous too. It is so hard to play in time, with feeling and shred techincally and find a balance with all these in one tune + pressure from the audience.... I took a big lesson out of it. Thanks for sharing!

I like how Thomas Briggs improvises using chord melodies and rhythmic approach at the beginning . While the other guys only can play licks and solos lol it's very rare to see a young player who seems understand the importance of rhythm playing as well as lead playing

Wow that was incredible. Next gen g4! First saw JR's audition cover for ASP and followed him SINCE. He puts a solid album out just may not have been his day on improv. Saw nick and Aaron perform in Manchester (uk) this year with polyphia and was such an amazing gig. These guys are all a credit to the industry and I'm glad they're all enjoying themselves so much

I like Aaron marshall jams. he moves between tension and releases creating a pleasant effect to my ears than others who linger on dissonance way too much. love Thomas who does dissonance the best because he seems to actually have some sort of a jazz/fusion background
