मुंबई में आईआईटी (IIT Bombay) परिसर स्थित केंद्रीय विद्यालय में बच्चों को पढ़ाने के लिए एक रोबोट (Robot) की सेवा ली जा रही है. रोबोट को एक महिला टीचर (Lady Teacher Robot) के तौर पर इस्तेमाल किया जा रहा है. इस रोबोट का नाम शालू है. शालू रोबोट (Shalu Robot) को उत्तर प्रदेश (Uttar Pradesh) के जौनपुर (Jaunpur) के रहने वाले शिक्षक दिनेश पटेल (Dinesh Patel) ने बनाया है. दिनेश पटेल मुंबई के इस केंद्रीय विद्यालय (Kendriya Vidyalaya) में पढ़ाते हैं. उन्हें शालू रोबोट बनाने में पांच साल का समय लगा.
मजे की बात यह है कि रजनीकांत की फिल्म रोबोट से प्रेरणा लेकर उन्होंने शालू को बनाने के बारे में सोचा था. शिक्षक दिनेश पटेल ने रोबोट को महिला के तौर पर क्यों पेश किया और उसका नाम शालू क्यों रखा, इसके पीछे उन्होंने भावनात्मक वजह बताई. दिनेश पटेल के मुताबिक, उनकी पत्नी ने रोबोट को ऐसा रूप देने का सुझाव दिया था. दिनेश और उनकी पत्नी की कोई बेटी नहीं है, इसलिए इसलिए रोबोट को इस तरह बनाया. अब शालू रोबोट मुंबई के केंद्रीय विद्यालय में शिक्षक दिनेश पटेल की बेटी के तौर पर बच्चों को पढ़ाती है.
