As nature wreaks havoc in parts of Maharashtra, capital city Mumbai witnessed a strong dust storm on May 13. Horrific visuals of damage and destruction emerged from across the state. A huge billboard that fell on a petrol pump, left three people dead and several still trapped inside. While NDRF has rushed to the spot and rescue operation is underway, authorities fear that the death toll is likely to rise. Watch to know in detail.

More such storms in next 10 to 20 years, like some idiot these builders are building high rises from past 75 years. Salt water penetration into land area will slowly make buildings weak from inside. Add to that climate change. Each city should be expanded to some limit, here they are adding vertically every year, it is only future disaster .

The supporting structures for the Bill Board couldn't stand/ bear the the storm wind load. Either the supporting structures were not at all designed or the storm wind load was not considered in the design or the structural steel members must have been corroded, resulting in availability of less cross sectional area of the steel members. Thorough investigation necessary by Charted Civil/ Structural Engineers.

The nature did its job. But we have not kept ourself prepared. It was shocking to see what happened yesterday. Cant imagine of what will happen in month of July to September in India when la Nina is expected to return to India as per IMD predictions. Its a wake up call for India. What high level inquiry... Govt should give compensation for the family of killed people... This is BJP simply inquiry and useless actions... Our Karnataka Congress govt is far far better than this BJP looters, when an accidentally life was gone the govt had immediately ordered compensation from builder and govt too gave compensation to the victim family... BJP govt will never do that... Simply inquiry for two three days and rest all is fogot .. vote for Congress for good days...
