I used to like listening to his talks. In fact, this is the second time I'm listening to it...and it has dawned upon me...he just obfuscates a simple story by bringing In some back story. Yes Kansa had a terrible childhood, yet him being a "baby killer" is not justifiable and hence he is a "vilian". And why is this so called uniqueness of India model he speaks of...doesn't Joker have a sad origin story? Almost every superhero villian has a dark origin story. Devdutt has read the the text and knows some stories that others don't, but that doesn't mean his interpretations carry special weight . Pretentious at best.

Arre par that is the point, why do you want a supervillain and superhero and from whose perspective? Even the western has story telling format with no villains or hero's, take sienfield for example

It is hard to fathom some rather irate opinions about Devdutt’s interpretations of Hindu scriptures. What is the issue, people? I have seen books on the holy Bhagwat Gita by Mahatma Gandhi, Vinobha Bhave, KM Munshi, Radhakrishnan, Rajgopalachari, Chinmaynanda, Prabhupada, Dayananda, and a dozen others. So why begrudge Devdutt HIS commentaries and interpretations?

When Devdutt (Pattanaik) puts up a situation in which a person standing in front of a grazing dear and a lion standing behind the dear. The person is suppose to act in good will. Then isn't the person suppose to let everything happen by itself if he is walking on the path of dharma?

@@adityagupta_1995 that's a flawed hypothesis, Nature has it's restraint to manage the order. If there are more lions than deer, a large fraction of predators will die of intraspecific struggle, if there is more grass then deer or some other animal will grow to maintain the order.

He is very creative and articulate but he himself commits many of the mistakes he complains about others for example many of the story writers do not stick to the facts as in Mahabharata or Ramayana but use their own prejudiced opinions. But he claims Kunti was raped from which Karan was born. In no version of Mahabharata was shown to be Kunti raped. Karan could have been a result of youthful love but wants to use rape as the certainity. He states it as a fact not what could have been. I can name many other such instances where he states his figments of imagination as facts. Again, no doubt he is talented, creative and succesful but he is too self obsessive and wants to others to see things his way.

This is a message to Devdutt, please dont distort truth feom vedas and puranas. If u r thus true Hindu please correct major anomalies as discovered by Rajiv Malhotra. Looks like u r no better than Shashi Tharoor! Please stop and correct urself, first master Sanskrit and then disect Hindu vedas. Also it is wrong to tag Myth to all Hindu scriptures and traditions. Its very important at this time we are dire in need of intellectual True Hindu who can fight verbally with Christians and Islamists including Intellectual Communist party affiliated hindus who are slapping Hindus right and left and tagging us as Terror Hindus! Please for heavens sake and the respects we have towards you kindly change ur assumed attitudes towards Hinduism! Thanks.

Don't you feel that you have been writing the same comment over quite a number of videos? I agree everyone has the freedom of speech and expression-so does Devdutt ji has, so does Rajiv ji has, so do you have and so do I have...but if you hate him so much from the bottom of your heart, then why are you just going on watching all of his videos and commenting the same thing over each of them...even if it's out of context...I think you have a lot of free time...anyways you are not judging him on whatever he is speaking...you are judging him on Rajiv Malhotra's commentary on his book "My Gita" which he is not even talking about in these videos...So please clarify your actions...obviously if you feel free to...noone can oblige you...it's a free nation after all...

Yaa rajiv sir who proposed reincarnation money transfer fund(lol)... I respect him,. Rajiv sir's work is good but he got stuck with to only one approach ...whereas devdutts approach is good for today's generation who wants to narrate things in todays context.... Rajiv g heard/learned scriptures in older time with limited/no technology...whereas devdutt learned/heard scriptures as well as internet(which is the most powerful library if used properly). We got to be careful....we as a person see what we wanna se...can't digest the fact that there are other realities, other approach and another way of telling same story.
