I did my engineering in Allahabad and since I am from Pune, I travelled on this route a lot in the late 80s/early 90s. Back then a significant portion of the route between Itarsi and Allahabad was single track and entirely diesel. Good to see the upgrade of the route. Thanks for sharing. Brought back lots of memories.

I am not 100% sure but you can double check - In the old narrow gauge days, Jabalpur was really a junction as there used to be a platform besides platform #1, and then that narrow gauge train used to take route from Howbagh.. After the gauge conversion, Kachhpura has been created as junction point. Kachhpura is where the SECR limit ends, and WCR starts for converted gauge. Now the common station between narrow gauge days and current broad gauge days - Gwarighat.
