As the train enters Pune city across the mutha river, I can only wince the many times I rode my bike alongside. ....but i never knew its name was mutha river!!

Wow! Those were some really keen observations. Now, let me add a bit more info to it.. 1) No, as per the TT this train is not supposed to halt at Kalyan 2) DQ's CDO is at CSMT, so it is upto them to allot it LHB rake. And Intercity's CDO is at Pune. DQ having a DC could be another reason. However, what I think is, because Panchavati's LHB-fication received quite a lot of negative response, CR might not be interested to ruin its Prestigious train's image at this time.

Yes, people do that. And they travel by Deccan Queen Express in both directions. It takes around 3h 15 mins to travel from end-to-end.

Train was started in 2005.it has two bankers start to end journey.

Not two, just one. It now runs in push-pull mode e2e (one engine at the front and one at the rear). . And, it was started on 15 March 2004 as a replacement of Shatabdi Express.
