Please sir i have one question... Recently i have diagnosed "subtotal inferior ragmatogenous retinal detachment with presence of horse shoe shape hole at 10 o clock position outside equator in right eye"Than sir said that your treatment plan is scleral buckling surgery in right eye But than next consultation sir said that you should better to undergone this treatment protocol "PPV+FAX+EL+SOI in right eye under local anaesthesia Sir please say which treatment protocol is better for me??? Buckling or vitrectomy?

Buckling is preferable, if possible. However sometimes it may not be possible to buckle posterior breaks , in which case PPV is the go to surgery

Hello sir.. My son is just 11 yrs old and had tatal RD & macula off in right eye.. He was operated with 240 scaral buckling+pvd+fluid air exchange +el in right How safe is this for a child and would there any complication in future And once the ratina heals then can scaral buckling be removed

Usually we don’t remove the buckle. It’s not needed

Vision will start improving gradually. Both buckling and Vitrectomy are good surgeries and indicated in different situations

Hello doctor! My dad has been diagnosed with :- Right eye horseshoe tear - Treatment plan is to seal the tear with barrage laser. And, Left eye retinal detachment - Treatment plan is vitrectomy using silicon oil combined with scleral buckle. My Question is:- Is it safe to combine both these process (vitrectomy with silicon oil and scleral buckle) for left eye? Patient has high myopia degree. We'll be undergoing surgery within this week.
