While traveling , the real ice even with salt will melt. You get different ice bricks which are blue in color and have gel inside . They are food safe. You are supposed to put them in freezer overnight that way the blue gel inside the plastic pack freezes and it becomes a solid ice pack. You can wrap the brick in a foil or plastic bag or use as is. It costs only 98 cents each . You can buy 5-6. They are reusable . Don’t throw them away. Use them over and over again . Igloo ice pack. Every store Carries it.
