Mumbo, the reason your storage keeps breaking is because when you open a trapped chest it locks the hopper behind it. So when items are going through the system do not open any chests. Hope this helped. :)

ilmango's melon and pumpkin farm is a terrifying thing. Folks, if you build that thing - especially if you're going for peak efficiency - give it about ten times as much storage as you think you need. Sincerely, somebody who had to build an extra storage room(!) just for pumpkins and melons.

I (accidently) Stumbeld Upon a Compact, Super Melon Farm. And It's Semi-Tilable. In a 16×16×16 area, it is about a 1000 MPH (Melon Per Hour) Machine. And it works with Pumpkins. Place 3 dirt in a row, till the 2 side dirt, and place Melons Place a Piston, so that when powered, the head is above the middle dirt block. Place a Scrap Block, An Observer with it's signal emmited upward, remove Scrap block On top of the observer, in the opposite direction of the first piston, place a *sticky* piston. Place a restone block on the face of the sticky piston, then place a piston (of choice, it doesn't matter) under redstone block After that last piston, the redstone block should extend, retract, then extend quickly. If it does, it works (test by placing a melon), if not, you did something wrong

*Build idea!* Mumbo, for the open part in the Nether where there's all these magma blocks, not far from your portal, you could make yourself a nice pathway with sea blocks (prismarine, etc.). Their blue would contrast nicely with the Nether's orange and would make for a good way to tell that this portal leads to your base.

Mumbo - I noticed your villagers are getting stuck in the killing mechanism. You can fix this family simply by placing block updaters and using dispensers to output water. More in depth: You make the blocks with signs on them updaters that output a red stone signal. You then place a dispenser a few blocks before the block updater. This would make the water extend enough to push the villager, then remove the water so more villagers can flow in from the other side.

Here's a theory, the reason your sorting system is screwing up is because when you leave the chucks and it's sorting it'll either be in a new lazy chuck and the timing will be off and lock up then get backed up and bam! You got yourself a problem. The other thing could be when you leave the chucks and reload them the item start to move again but the timings get screwed up and you get a back up. Like if you think I'm right so Mumbo can find a solution!

You should be able to reduce how often the villagers get backed up, with a little redstone. Instead of manually pushing that button, have it activated by a hopper timer -- if the interval is long enough, the villagers in the minecarts won't bump into each other.

I think Mojang needs to make a new redstone feature that function as a hopper, but will automatically craft a item of your choosing as the specific ingredients travels through this hopper, and when crafted would emit a redstone signal.
