@@rayanderson5797 Gura's normally got a pretty solid midlands accent which is basically just broadly the middle of America. Given that she talks a lot about farming and whatnot Nebraska's a solid guess - but her twang is a little different. While you can tell that's she's more from the north since when talking to chat she uses _"You guys!"_ rather than _"Y'all!"_ she has a few little Southern things here and there, which is when her twang kicks in. It's most apparent when she's roleplaying Scout in their TTRPG and leaning in to that accent past how she normally speaks. She's talked about doing lots of road trips as a kid and going to Disney World in Florida, so maybe she lived more in the South when she was younger, as it's an accent she can slip into _REALLY_ easily, but is mostly absent from her normal speaking voice aside from a little twang. I grew up in Ohio when I was younger with a family that did road trips everywhere, so hearing someone with a midlands accent and catching those little hints of somewhere else is one of the things I've always found super comfy about Gura's streams (especially as I don't live in America anymore and it's fun to try and remember where certain accents were from).

@@claytonreeves150 To me that always comes off more as a Gura being a kid who got to take a road trip out there once a year and memorized all the things about it because of looking forward to doing it as a special thing, rather than something that came from living nearby. Also, the way Gura falls into her twang accent when she talks about banjos, but also how it happens more when she talks to Calli (who's from Texas) makes it feel like it's an accent she's used to casually using - but always specific to certain context. It's also why I think Calli noticed Mumei's voice similarity because I think she listens to certain nuances of how Gura talks slightly differently than everyone else. It's pretty common to know families who do a Disney park trip as a part of summer vacation for kids. I'd assume Gura's parents have friends or extended family who live somewhere in the South loosely nearby and they'd take a trip, stay together and hang out and Disney World was a part of that. Then when the friends come to visit, she'd probably still be using that accent there as well, because the South has different formalities like all the _"Yes ma'am. No sir."_ that come with it, so you'd have context switching that bring the accent with it. While I didn't grow up going to Disney places, that kind of road trip and driving out to stay with friends for a couple weeks was pretty common for me. When you're younger you very easily pick up little pieces of accents from while you're there, and they only show up while you're around that specific peer group. Also, because the midlands accent is mostly neutral, it's REALLY easy to lift accents like that, even without the additional factors. With Gura, I think that's why she finds it really easily to nail accents and pronunciation of other languages like when she sings in Japanese. (That's also anecdotal, as I grew up like that and also found foreign language pronunciation really easy to pick up because I traveled a lot when I was younger). Also, Gura has another shift happen with her and other accents, but it's always more subtle and there's only one I can think of easily. When she jokes around with chat or her cat about being dumb she says, _"Are you Stoopiiid?"_ with a type of vowel emphasis that I don't think she ever uses anywhere else, and that is totally a Hispanic pronunciation, and the kind of thing that you'd use to tease people as a kid.

The natural pitch in their tone of voice is almost on the same level. Mume's voice is slightly higher than Gura's, but if Mume lowers her pitch, she can imitate Gura's voice. It's uncommon but not impossible. Similar to how JP Hologirls can imitate Pekora's laugh and sometimes match it.
