When I was a youngster I saw part of the Mummers' Parade on television on Thanksgiving morning. The spectacle was creepy, especially how grown men embraced being so outlandishly tacky, a far cry from the dignified uniforms of the carabinieri (dress uniforms) and the Swiss Guards. PROPORZIONE!
