I hadn't heard of Arica to be honest. But it looks fascinating. Those mummies are definitely aren't what I picture as mummies. But it is cool how well preserved they are. The town has an interesting desert-like landscape - which isn't something I would have expected on the coast. The thousand year old geoglyphs look fascinating. I am a bit surprised they have survived so long. Thanks for sharing Arica with us!

I'd never heard of it either but when I researched to try to decide what to do, I was amazed at the history. There are mummies in a larger museum that actually look more like mummies but it was closed. In the next video, it shows more things like the wrappings and things they were buried with like shells. The city is RIGHT on the desert. I thought it would be further from the coast. I loved this place, it was a pleasant surprise. Thanks so much for coming along with us!

The fog in the harbor is so cool. Love the street performers. So many beautiful palm trees. Cool that the village houses are shops. Cute little church too, so colourful and vibrant inside. Loved your explanation about it - so creepy about the pocession! Awe cute kitty! Beautiful views from up on the Morro of the beautiful, stunning coastline. The water is stunning and nice to see all of the boats. Love that there is the peace and friendship monument with Peru. Too bad the museum was closed. The seal is so cute! Amazing video and adventures!

It was such a beautiful place and I loved being up on the Morro, such views. I loved the history here and really enjoyed the day even though I'd never heard of it before. I loved it when seals played as we left a port, they are just so cute! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment!

Arica Chile looks just fascinating. I have heard that the oldest mummies are the ones from Chile and it was pretty cool that you got to see them. Loved seeing the Atacama Desert and the petroglyphs up on the hillside. I think I have seen those on some documentary TV show also. You have had such a great trip. I would love to go there someday. 👍😊

There is a museum that shows many more mummies in better condition but it was closed on Mondays and we were there on a Monday but I was so impressed to learn about these mummies and those petroglyphs! And, every time I see this video of my photos I can't help but think I saw the Atacama desert! Wow! Thanks so much for coming along!
