Hi Thank you so much for sharing this with us. It was a nice way for your man to pass as she passed in her sleep .Am in tears writing this as it’s so sad. It was you who cared for your man and the nurses who cared for her at the hospital . Some people are born to do this kind of work and are definately angels in my eyes. I am a retired nurse and can see what goes on the background that visitors don’t see. This gift is much better than giving a donation to the ward. As a cared for others you had more of an insight in what others do and indeed you have done your mum proud. She is looking down on you with pride and joy These types of wards your mam was in are second to none. God bless you as you did your utmost to Uk our mam as It was the last place she was and knew. Bless your Mum firstly. Newbie me again. Our family went through a very similar journey with my dear Mum. You have done such a great job with this video, so many don’t talk about this at all. We looked after my Mum in hospital like you. She was l carer herself and so is my dedicated daughter now. We did it between us. Hard at the time but our pleasure to look back on. It was nearly 9 years ago now we lost my Mum/Grannie but we have so many fond memories of some of the fun times we had in hospital. Anyway l will stop waffling on. Just to say lm so glad to have found your channel and such a lovely thing to do providing care packages for others. My final thing, believe it or not l can’t forget your Mum as our son was born on November 5th and will be 30 this year. Much love to you and yours from me in Dorset xx

My Mom was diagnosed with oesophageal cancer which spread to her liver in 1977. Chemo was in its infancy then. They operated but it was too late , she died 2 weeks later. I was only 7, but would like to think that I would have looked after my Mom like you did, you were amazing, bless you x

Hi. I understand truly what you said and feel your pain. I lost my mam after treatment for 18 months on ward 14 too. It was 15 year ago now so staff could be different but even for us. They were a second family and thank you could never be enough. My thoughts and love to you. I live 10 mins from the hospital and often wanted to go back to ward 14 to express gratitude but never could and just rang the lovely nurses so they knew how thankful we were for them. I.ll think about you ( and mam) friday. I.m sure you.ll make there year with your hampers take care xx

Hi Charlie, Firstly thank you so much for sharing this video with us. Secondly please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. This video felt like i wrote the script word for word. This is exactly what happened to my mom in 2017. Exactly the same its scary. I was with mom when she passed away too. I was sitting one side and my sister on the other. It was so very peaceful and calm which i will be so grateful for. That was 7 years ago and i miss her every single day. During her illness she did suffer i'm not gonna lie. It was so hard to watch someone you love die in front of your eyes. The only comfort i get from all this is at the end it was peaceful. Cancer is a horrendous disease which can never fully be explained and ruins lives. I hate it with a passion. You are an amazing caring daughter and even though your mom hardly said so she loved you with all her heart.

Charlie what a beautiful story told from the heart. Your strength and courage shines through. Your Mum will always be by your side guiding you. I have a similar story....My nephew aged 23 was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma and secondaries on his liver. We too raised funds so we could buy kettles, cups and trays so relatives could enjoy a cuppa with their loved ones (these were all side rooms on the ward). Hi Charlie, Thanks so much for posting this video. I felt every moment with you. I lost my younger brother two weeks ago. He had chemotherapy for leukaemia in Addenbrokes Hospital in Cambridge 6 weeks ago, and sepsis set in. The staff were lovely and did everything possible. His final week on ITU was an eye opener. Never have I seen a more caring, dedicated group of people than they. Each step you went through with your mum reminded me of the steps of Peter's journey. I'm so sorry for your loss and admire what you are doing for the team that cared for your mum. ❤

So sorry Charlie about your mum , I hate cancer it takes so many good people my grandfather died on 10th November 2004 he had bowel cancer similar situation the cancer came back told us midweek he was gone by the end of the week , north tees hospital wasn't as nice unfortunately. Its lovely what you're doing in your mums memory god bless her ❤ i lost my dad 1997 lung cancer then 2010 my mum to bladder cancer which was never found till the end, she died on my sister's birthday she died 2013 to cancer, the one i was really angry about was the hospital gave my brother the all clear which was wrong his son found him dead april 2023, iv had skin cancer twice and thank god it was treated.

So sorry about losing your mum I’ve also lost my mum. Sounds like she couldn’t have had better care from either you or the hospital staff, who aren’t paid nearly enough. I had a similar experience as you when my nan was dying she got confused and didn’t know anyone was seeing people who weren’t there according to my dad. I said I wanted to visit her my dad said I doubt she will know you’re there but I wanted to go as it would probably be the last time I saw her. I got there and she said proudly to the nurse this is my granddaughter and began chatting away with me asking how my daughter was and I said she’s going for her driving test soon my Nan said she’ll pass whichever did. My dad couldn’t believe I was able to have a conversation with her, she died shortly afterwards. I’m told this does happen I feel it’s a last goodbye x

Hi Charlie it's took me until now to watch this video as I knew it would be hard to watch x I lost my mum 3rd jan this year with the same sepsis and phenomena x mum went into hospital Xmas eve 2023 and I never left her side until she sadly passed away in the new year x unfortunately I'm an only child and had to do it all by myself x unlike you I did have the end of life time with mum x but so glad you had that lovely day to remember with your mum her brighter day bless you x and god bless for sharing your story x x your mum would be proud of you so much xx ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

Charlie Just watched the video about your Mum and it resonated so much with me lost my Mum 19/12/2021 from liver cancer four months after diagnosis. She like your Mum didn't express her feelings and it was only in that last weeks that she told me that she loved me her last week she was in and out of delirium so many times before she finally the last few days just slept away. And being so vigilant and reviewing camera notifications and keeping an eye of her symptoms and making sure she was seen to by a doctor . . . She was in the best hands Bless you ❤ You seem very loving and affectionate and your mum was with someone who really loved her when she passed. I cried watching you cry 😢 I'm a huge emphasiser and I felt your pain 💔 It was like you always knew Bonfire Night was bad news ☹️ I hope you feel better for sharing this story. I think it's an important part of your story and has contributed to making you who you are.
