MUNCHIES: Chef's Night Out with Erik Anderson

We don't know what's more impressive: That Erik Anderson and his three-person kitchen staff managed to cook, plate, and serve a fourteen-course tasting menu to about 40 people every night, or the amount of Fernet that Erik and his team drank on his night out with us. We ended up hanging out of his last nights as the chef at The Catbird Seat in Nashville, Erik took us out to Rolf and Daughters, Husk, and 308 Bar before heading back to his own restaurant for a late-night snack of smoked bologna sandwiches, steak tartare, ribs, scrambled eggs with caviar, and even more Fernet. This is some of the best (and some of the most) food and drink we've had in a while. Enjoy.

Because when most people call somebody a hipster, they really just mean somebody who gives more of a shit about something than they do. This can apply to food, clothing, music, basically anything. Munchies only has really good chefs. And in order to be a really good chef you need to actually give a shit about food. And since most regular people don't give a shit about food (or, at least, enough of a shit) then everybody on this show gives more a shit about food than you do. And so you call them a hipster.

Argentina downs more fernet than any other country, almost 80% of the worlds supply. No one can beat us.

There's pockets of people all around the world who drinks it, especially around central Europe and Scandinavia were that kind of bitter is a pretty common drink (as a shot or digestif). Weirdly enough, it doesn't seem to be very popular in Italy where they invented the stuff.
