Oxbow has come out with a new line back in 2019 that also included chew toys. These chew toys are appropriate and environmentally friendly. So let's talk about them while I rank my favorite ones today in this mini Oxbow animal haul.

ok ok OK let me rave before I watch. Oxbow is the absolute BESTTTT brand for small pet supplies. I cannot express how much I love their Enriched Life Line (except the cages... i won’t go into that.) because they are: 1. SAFE! So so many small pet supplies aren’t actually safe for small pets?! Every toy in this line is very safe and natural. No chemicals, unsafe woods, cottons, wires, or anything else bad. Wonderful wonderful wOnderful! 2. Enriching- hence the name ‘enriched life’. It’s true. 3. Pretty cost-friendly. 4. and may i say, cute! So cute, Especially the little celebration cupcake. Okay. Imma watch now. Love you, Munchie! I live pretty near you and if I’m ever in Maple Valley I’d love to visit the rescue.

Omg! I literally went on a hamster haul the other day at Petco, too! And bought the exact same chew toys that you showed. I definitely love the dangly ones, the cupcake, and the celebration cone!!! 🥰 I went for a fun food theme for my hammy’s New Year cage decor. Cheers 🥂 to reminding hamster moms and dads to set aside some money to spoil our precious hammies! They’re apart of the family and appreciate gifts too.

I love the hanging foraging pot! I use that instead of bowls whenever I need a solid spot to put food at. My Syrian can even fit into it!

I stand by OxBow for their chew toys. I've never used their food or enclosures but I love their natural chew toys. Most hamster chews are bright colored, dyed messes in obnoxious random shapes. OxBow actually made their chews for the happiness of the pet, and not as eye candy for a kid. That's rare for a small pet company and I respect it.

My guinea pigs love these toys so much, they're favorite is the little apple wood stick covered in cardboard and paper, and the little wooden cube with dangly toys.

Hi Munchie! I just wanted to mention that the reason dyes on some toys may bleed is because they are natural vegetable dyes, which is a good thing! It's annoying when it happens, but it's like an affirmation that it's a safe dye. I'm a bird owner, so I know the plights of toy colors very well. It's not uncommon for my amazon parrot to have colorful feet after playing with a toy after taking a bath.

The Oxbow rat food is really good, too. To my knowledge it's just the hamster food that's messed up, which seems weird to me when they're otherwise really good about everything but their cages. I love their chew toys, and I got the woven grass tents and tunnels (are they tunnels? they're very small) they just came out with. My six rats adore them and love to shred woven grass. They go crazy for the Oxbow food above any other food, even more than some treats I've tried, they love it so much. The new Oxbow toys are really cool and I want to try more of them, I just wish they weren't so expensive.

Out of all of the pet companies I've seen that pertain to small animals, I appreciate Oxbow- as I feel they have been trying to move forward and improve the world of pet care. I look for it to be a while yet before the rest of the pet industry is willing to make similar steps... but things are getting better slowly and I think they are trying.

Actually I was just trying to be happy in this video. I thought that just laughing at life would be great for a moment. Especially when everything in 2020 was absolute garbage. Love their bedding too! Little bit pricier than some brands but happy with how much softer and odor free it is compared to others.

@@ezplays3321 They focus on a hay based diet, while hamsters don’t need hay and because of that it lacks the nutrients from the pellets and it’s just really unhealthy for them and there are better options out there

Oxbow also makes amazing rat food-honestly the only things from the company that aren't great are the hamster/gerbil food and the enclosures. Their toys, treats, and most of their foods are great. Plus they're one-if not the only-mainstream company that makes a wide variety of different hays which is amazing.

I’ve seen those and some are cute like the forage pot I know petco gets a bad rep for their animal care but I will say they match online prices and you can find really good deals I get my rats ladders and some toys especially hammocks for really good prices! For example the colorful dangly $5.99 online price $4.79 cupcake $6.99 is $4.99 and the barrel is $9.99 online $6.99 and they price match like you mentioned some you can make but the other item I don’t think are too expensive with the price match 🐹

Oxbow needs to get it together with their hamster food and animal cages. I love their toys for my hamster. In fact, most of her toys are Oxbow and so is her bedding. My rabbits also use lots of Oxbow products: hay, pellets, eco-straw litter, and toys.

Hi munchie ! So because i just got my first ever dwarf hamster obviusly i still need to learn about it. I pretty much know the basics and i did a LOT of research and after that i even considered if i am a good enough owner to get such a care needy animal. However i decided to finaly get one. And dont warrie i didnt juat get a stupid small cage with a ridiculously small wheel. I actually invested. Which i am more than happy about! i just want a tip on the chew toys. I was wondering if i could maybe use twigs and small branches from trees which i qould dry out. Bc there where i live, chew toys are bretty expensive and most of them arent even that good of quality and health. I want him/her to be happy so can you plzz plzzz give me a tip on the toys? and also i would like to know if the food im using is allright? i use the "tiny friends farm, harry hamster, tasty mix" thanks for reading x

Oh Munchie that loco ball you were talking about being dyed.. I contacted oxbow after it dyed my hands.. They told me that the chew toy was to be kept away from moisture.. I did explain that chewing would involve an animals mouth which in fact by it's very nature is moist making the keeping it away from moisture impossible.. they were not amused please be careful with that one.. it smells very bag when damp as well

I've been told they're veggie dyes and natural bleeding from moisture is fine. Someone else looked into it so your animal should be safe.

My hamster broke my fridge. My hamster Bandit (the name suits her) escaped her cage and went under my fridge and chewed up the wired. Plus, she’s not full tamed yet, I haven’t been able to hand hold her yet or touch her because she gets to scared so it was pretty hard to capture her but I did. (This is my second hamster, Cookie my previous hamster sadly died of old age)

The higgins sunburst or vita garden mixed with the mazuri rat and mouse lab blocks (or similar) is good. It gives them enough protein and the higgins has no artificial dyes or anything. 😄

I don’t know if you have the time to respond to comments but I was wondering if this cage would be okay for a dwarf hamster? (Obviously would be buying a different wheel and plenty of chew toys!) the Little Friends Governor Rat and Hamster Cage with Wooden Shelf and Ladder, Large, 77 x 47 x 36 cm, I’ve seen some people buying it for their Syrians and rats but I don’t think the size is suitable?

Definitely not suitable for rats. Technically it’s above the minimum for Syrians but really they should have a larger cage. It would be fine for a dwarf hamster as it’s 540 inches of floor space.
