after enabling usb debugging and connecting usb cable (which is connected to a computer) you will get popup to allow trust that computer. if you dont then you have an option to revoke usb debugging authorizations in developer options. revoke and then connect phone to computer again and you should get the rsa thing.

you will need to do a format data in twrp which will result in all data being wiped.

Hello munchy, I followed your steps closely and I successfully installed magisk, twrp, and a custom rom (PE10+). I also backed up beforehand. I also tried to install a custom kernel. It was successful, however, I cannot install the kernel app because of an error that says magisk is not installed. I also checked it and the magisk manager was gone in my app library after restoring some apps and data. Although I still have all the .zip on my file manager. Hey Munchy, I want to install pixel 4 ROM on my POCO F1. These below questions are regarding that. 1. May be a dumb question but still.. Once twrp is installed.. I can reboot the phone normally is it ! It takes me directly to miui right ? Coz somewhere in the video (during twrp installation) u mentioned that reboot into twrp otherwise poco ROM is gonna rewrite twrp recovery. 2. Secondly, to install any custom ROM shud the mobile be on the current stable ROM or is it fine otherwise ? Coz right now I downgraded from miui 11 to miui 10.0.6. 1. you need to install MAgisk for TWRP to stick, if you dont then MIUI will replace TWRP with stock recovery 2. follow any of my latest custom rom install video and you will be fine. kzbin.info/www/bejne/aJW0h6GnbryVaM0 read pinned comment as well if the video asks for it

magisk is needed to twrp is not replaced by stock recovery on first MIUI boot. if you install a custom rom right after installing twrp without booting into MIUI then yes you can skip Magisk.

Hi again munchy, I was just wondering what are magisk and TWRP recovery ? And what does it have to do with rooting the phone ? Since, I'm gonna do it too but don't want to mess up anything, so I'm basically asking you this by precaution to know what I'm actually doing. All I know is that you can flash custom roms that's to say custom software, if I'm not... mistaken ? By using TWRP recovery, and so, it's like BIOS for pc right ? Like a hidden platform in wich you can do certain modifications to your phone, hence why you need to unlock the bootloader right ? I know that video is pretty old but I didn't wanted to do anything to my phone and stay with stock Miui stable Rom with locked bootloader, but now I would like to do certain things only achievable by rooting, wich are changing the linux kernel to extreme kernel, while changing the rom to pixel experience or oxygen os. Thanks again for your effort and constant updates about the pocophone for the comunity, it really help us out, hope you get to answer and if you do thanks again for your feedback :).
