Mundaring Weir Western Australia, jewel of the Perth hills in HD

A short flyover of the dam at Mundaring Weir in the Perth Hills, Western Australia. Completed in 1903 to pump water to the parched Kalgoorlie goldfields 700km away. The brainchild of C.Y. O'Connor; a brilliant engineer who endured public criticism over the ambitious project and sadly took his own life before completion of the scheme.

+Mandy Campbell thanks for comment as always Mandy. Pete & Alfie have talked about following the pipeline from Mundaring to Kal on trail bikes, all 700km of it. It's been put on hold after the youngsters injury though. Maybe one day I'll join ‘em?
