Rush hour on MUNI Light Rail in the Market Street Corridor sees pretty much non-stop action (a train about every 30-60 seconds). Enjoy the action =)

Very short headways... does the Muni Metro use automatic train operation?

Yes

Yes. Muni Metro is entirely automated between West Portal and Embarcadero. The new Central Subway will be automated as well.

We have to have short headways because we can't have more than 2 train cars due to the lightrail/streecar hybrid system. If they tunnel the rest of the M line they can have that train run 4 cars and fill the rest of the station... might see that in 25 years, might not.

J M and N are my favorite lines along with the K and the L but the T is my worst line because it’s called the KT Ingleside/Third Street

How are your opinions now that T will be independant in October?

What I don't understand is with the metro, using the clipper card, you use the card to get into the station, yet some people still charge themselves again using the train scanner, like wtf are you doing lmao. Nice video though.

Michael Dodge True I always feel bad when someone scans their card on a train at an underground station. Either they have no idea that you don't need to do that, or they are accidentally doing it one time.

it won't charge again within 90 minutes on any muni except cable car.

You get 2 hours grace period (i think). I've ridden the train 3 times in that window and it was only $2.50 the whole time. Same works for muni buses.
