Good to watch. Kudos! 👏🏼 Even with the small cast and few location changes there is lots to think about here. I have commented on some of this in response to others below, such as, why does Amarachi stay home everyday looking sad and why has she let herself go? She dressed up for the side chick. Why not for the husband? But in addition, why was the husband always having “accidents?” There are adult diapers to prevent this. And since Amarachi knew that Chibuike was incapacitated, why did she not have help at home for when labour would begin? For a Christian, she exhibited a great deal of ‘sin consciousness.’ Yes, to remaining humble and contrite before God but sin consciousness robs you of the joy of salvation. She certainly didn’t look like a happy Christian. On the other hand, we have ‘righteousness consciousness’ or ‘covenant consciousness’ which gives the believer confidence and hope in what their salvation entails - you don’t need to cry and beg daily for this because it’s yours as part of your salvation. And this brings fullness of joy, a sign of God’s presence (Psalm 16:11, Galatians 5:22). You can’t walk with God and be habitually miserable, as the cited scriptures tell us. Amarachi showed signs of depression in this regard. I think she was so wrapped up in ‘atoning for her sins,’ real or imagined, that she lost touch with the present life. So much so that she was not functioning as a whole human being. Anyway, I know it’s a movie. But it sure does give food for thought about how our words and actions drive the outcomes we experience. It’s not just about the prayer she prayed and how it was ‘answered.’ It’s also about not being so ‘in the spirit’ that we lose touch with reality, and give place to the devil we are praying against. Good job, MMM! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Great movie! But I seem to have a different take. We women are fond of neglecting ourselves after marriage. We stop dreaming or making efforts to chase our dreams and begin to live vicariously through our spouse or kids. In the end some become resentful, envious of the progress of their spouse and begin to feel insecure at the slightest even when no one asked them to pause on self improvement. In my opinion the wife was a tool in the hands of the devil because she was idle and sat all day waiting and watching her husband's every move till she cursed him. That's my take. Women should continue to build themselves after marriage. That's my take.

They have to learn how to create time for each other.

Even when the marriage was good. If we are Christians, we have the examples of virtuous women in the Bible to follow, and several biblical injunctions to be faithful stewards of our gifts and talents and to make contributions in our families and communities. With these cautionary tales and biblical examples, we cannot say we are without wisdom. For those women who aren’t yet married, prepare before you step in. For those who are married, maybe it’s time to appraise the situation and see what resources we can deploy to start making something of our lives. It’s never too late. We can start with what we have. Women have built houses and paid children’s school fees by frying and selling akara. Some have returned to school after the children grew up. I did this myself. I saw my mother all through her life studying one short course or another and that’s how she was able to look after herself and her children after my dad went polygamous. Everyone has something in their hands that they can use to move from A to B, and B to C, until they can achieve their goals. I and many women I know are proof of this. We can’t just say it’s not easy. Who ever said anything was easy? What matters is that it’s possible. And sometimes, you have to take Step 1 before the way to Step 2 opens up to you. So, if we’re waiting for everything to be clear, or to have the whole provision, we will stay stuck saying it’s not easy. If anyone is in this situation, take this as your divine intervention. God is telling you that He made you for greater things and the seeds for all of them are within you. Don’t let your seeds grow mouldy or get eaten by rodents (doubts and naysayers). Get planting 🫵🏽 and one day, it will be harvest time. 👊🏽

Very interesting and educative. It's indeed power of the tongue. Amarachi made that first prayer out of frustration but thank God she realized her mistake when things got bad and prayed to God for reversal. With faith in God and patience for God's time, her prayer was answered and everyone was happy including her mother in-law who had been a thorn on her flesh. Please, let's be mindful of what we say and in our time of trouble, may we trust God to solve all our problems as we cast our burden unto Him through prayer and supplication. Wives pray for your husbands and every member of your family with love because women are home builders and husbands, love and cherish your wives better than any other woman. Prayer is the key. A lot of lessons from this movie. Kudos to the cast and crew. Well done oooo.

Who is blaming the woman for her initial prayers? Do not ever neglect a woman emotionally. She made that prayer from a broken heart and the prayers took effect on him bcos he was actually cheating on her. Men! It is biblical, treat your wives appropriately and reap the many blessings that comes with a woman, esp one who is God fearing. I had even worst experiences than Amara, both maritally and otherwise. Whenever I reflect my experiences I cry, I cannot blive I survived the severe mental stress. Thank God she got pregnant the moment her hubby had stroke, she may not have stayed due to the emotional and mental torture from her mum inlaw, it was good she sent her away. One last comment, no matter how rich a man is, every woman should be working, so as to earn and engage her brain. If she was working she would not have felt neglected as such bcos she will always go out to engage with others and work. Most women neglected emotionally cheat on their men, esp emotionally. Once a caring man comes around her, she engages with him n neglects you her hubby, beware!

This hit home for me when we were going through a strained time, I prayed without ceasing when he would come home early mornings drunk. I remember once praying on my knees when he arrived and a Christian man himself ridiculed me. God answered ad our marriage rose from the dead. Years later he fell sick with MS and all the past shattered emotions entered my mind, I trusted God. I always think of the 26 good years God gave us for this last relay, he didn’t make it so I am glad love endured to keep us together till death due us part.
