I was lucky enough to see the whole show live in Moscow, a few days ago. There are no words to describe the beauty and the emotion that these dancers convey to their audience . You can see instantly how hard working and deeply cultured they are. It is really moving. Thanks for the experience !!!

@caderly1238 жыл бұрын
My understanding is that the "Cossacks" were recruited into the Czar's army from the borders of the Empire, and were not necessarily ethnic Russians. This might explain why Cossack dress and customs seem to come from countries that border modern day Russia.
@reddeimon4758 жыл бұрын
USSR is multi race country, so every culture kind of mixed up
@caderly1238 жыл бұрын
In that case, my source was wrong.
@erkinguney33527 жыл бұрын
The cossack dance doesnt belong to any country in my opinion,it is played and a national dance in the countries that are in the caucasus region such as Georgia,Azerbaijan,Turkey,Russia etc.
@MemoryOfTheAncestors7 жыл бұрын
+Jakaŭ ישראל7 The representatives of the local Caucasian peoples also had been joining to Cossacks, they had been accepting the Orthodox faith (or already had it) and Cossack rules of life. It was they who brought them the local customs and style of clothing. Moreover, many Terek Cossacks have a Caucasian non-Slavic appearance, and the Siberian and Far Eastern Cossacks are slightly Asian.
@GalaxyMagician10 жыл бұрын
I thought the great cossack dance was an Ukrainian dance…Oh well, beautiful performance all the same :D
@wenqiweiabcd10 жыл бұрын
It's kind of like arguing whether Vikings were Swedish, Danish or Norwegian. The earliest Cossacks were Ukrainian, but different Cossack groups began to form and they played an important role in both Russian and Ukrainian history. They usually have an ethnic identity separate from Russian and Ukrainian identities; i.e. East Slavic in general.
@O_sore9 жыл бұрын
Козаки были и в Украине и в России))
@UnskilledGod9 жыл бұрын
Cossacks are neither Ukrainian or Russian, regardless of where they live. Cossacks are Cossacks, and they have Slavic, Iranic, Turkic and even Mongolic origins. They all descend from the great horse tribes of the steppe, and they have played a part in the Russian Empire and the Soviet Union. They have been involved in battles in the Far East and in Europe.

@ITmage8 жыл бұрын
GeilerRitter In Georgia? What are you smoking, majority of Georgians hate Russia with their guts. Btw... those are not regions, but countries and one Russian republic, get a map clown. Ah, also its Moldova and Crimea and you butchered Chechnya so much i barely recognised it, your english is beyond repair. Judging by the fact how you tried to write Crimea with K i expect you are uneducated butthurt Eastern European. Poland? Ukraine? Lithuanian? Doesnt matter actually, uneducated and butthurt is the diagnosis. Go troll somewhere else... Baby.
@HarionDafar8 жыл бұрын
haha, whatever darling. but keep on believing that russia is still widely respected. you self named some countries which hate russia (urkaine, lithuania, poland, georgia). so who is left liking you? even your former closest neighbours hate you, don't even think of what western europe thinks of you. nothing more than a bunch um drunk idiots who have not understood the 21st century, yet. acting still like a 20th century power. sad. so sad. i don't know what you mean by trolling. isn't a troll someone who secretly tries to install a certain image of someone else? well, as i said: it is you who listed the people which don't like russia. name one you likes it.
@ITmage8 жыл бұрын
GeilerRitter "You"? I am not even Russian, so quit refering to me as one. Ah ye, those mighty states Ukraine, Poland and Lithuania, so important players on world scene... or maybe not. And stop with that "Russians are drunks" chant its getting very old, Nordic countries consume alot more alcohol per capta than Russia i dont see you calling them drunks. So lets see, countries with which Russia has good relations... India, China.. two world major powers with huge population and chairs in most important world institutions. Indonesia, Vietnam, Serbia, Iran, Iraq, Morocco, Algeria, Syria, Greece, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Cuba, Brasil, South Africa, Mongolia, Palestine... More than decent relations with some quite suprising states like Jordan, Israel, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Greece, South Korea, Azerbaijan, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary.. which are more often listed as "close" allies of US rather than Russia. Actually list of countries that openly "hate" Russia is very short, at least those that matter in any way. Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Finland, UK, Germany, US, Australia, Canada, Turkey even half of those is on the list because US said so, actual population either does not give a fuck about politics or has sympathy towards Russia or in some cases its president Putin. Then you have bunch of tiny useless countries noone really cares about like Albania, Croatia, Denmark etc etc. And Montenegro that enforced mighty sanctions aganist Russia with its whole 500.000 population lol. So yes, you are trolling and badly on top of it. And dear God l2english its horrid.
