India winning Kings Cup After loss to India, in an interview Pakistani cricket player Imad Wasim gave some amazing information about India’s trio bowling battery Padnya, Arshdeep, and Bumrah. (No one paid any attention to him, because these days, everyone is interested in talking and not in listening. But I listened to him). I am going to paraphrase what he said. In effect he said that India’s pace attack of Bumrah, Pandya, and Arshdeep is a trio of missiles against which no batsman can build an Israel like iron dome defense system. If you try to score, you will lose your wicket. If you protect your wicket and you are chasing Indian score total, you will will no make runs for victory and lose. In world cup final Rohit used the same trio missile battery against South Africa. And he hit Australia with same missile battery of Bumrah, Pandya and Arshdeep. Of course this missile attack trio cannot work without excellent fielding. And mythic catches by Surya Kumar Yadav and Axer Patel were there to be part of this Rohit missile attack bowlers. A chasing team could not have defeated India in this world cup because of this missile battery. And you could not put too many runs either in first inning for the same reason. In batting, except last match, Rohit, Surya Kumar Yadav, and Rishabh Pant played mostly attacking cricket to put enough runs on the board that rival teams did not have an answer to either pace attack missile battery or spin attack battery of Kukdeep, Axer Patel, and Jadeja, latter being a week link. In New York they went with Shiraz because pitches were not spin friendly. Kohli and promoted Axer Patel with help of Shivam Dube put enough runs in first inning of final match, that trio pace missile attack system, in the end, froze South Africa and did not let them win. History of Pakistan match was repeated in world cup final. Sure, both South Africa and Pakistan made Indian fans nervous for about last four overs. But captain Rohit was not much bothered because he knew that his missile battery of pacers will deny chasing team the victory. I do not think that any team has ever won a Cricket world cup undefeated. I think, India is the first to do it. Such cup is called, “Kings Cup”.
