I have to agree with you... I have been listening to carnatic music for 35 years now and this is the first time I have heard him. I have heard Mali, Ramani, Sikkil Sisters, Sashank, but never heard him... I am so sad (and actually ashamed...) - what a brilliant Ranjani - tears of joy listening to this.

He is the equivalent of the Hindustani sitar legend Nikhil Bannerjee. Someone who is a true karma yogi and cared only about the music and nothing else in life. What a great alapana of Ranjani ragam. The clarity of the notes is just blissful to hear. Under appreciated genius of carnatic music. Good to see the outpouring of appreciation for KSG. Big fan as well.
