I just completed this his weekend, and my dog won't go in there because of the way it smells because of the paint. Any tips?

Unfortunately, I don't have any tips for that, but the paint smell should fade in a couple of weeks. Some paints just put out stronger fumes than others. I hope your dog grows to like what you made for him/her.
