Murayama didnt leave SWORD, it's just that he's graduated from Oya High and decided to move on. (Personally, I believe we will see Murayama be in Sannoh in the future movies.) once the current X worst series ended.

Even if Murayama didn't go there, Hyuga would've joined the fight after all. He has his pride as one of the group leader. He know that Cobra would help any of the faction in need while Oya would follow Sannoh's action.
