5 years for a drug charge!!???, naw dude what else did you do??....was it your first charge?
@morgellon78772 жыл бұрын
I'm not the OP, but there's mandatory minimum sentences for drug possession in the U.S. From 1986 until 2010, five grams of crack (a not-uncommon personal-use amount) would get you a mandatory five-year minimum sentence, whereas 500 grams of powder cocaine was the amount needed for the same minimum five-year sentence. It was called the 100:1 crack vs. powder sentencing disparity, and was highly controversial. The police and judicial system were given not just an incentive (as if they needed any more), but an actual duty to target communities advertised in the media as "ravaged by crack". In 2010 the disparity was lowered to 18:1, with the amount of crack needed for a mandatory minimum sentence raised to an ounce. Joe Biden co-authored the 1986 Anti-Drug Abuse Act, with segregationist Strom Thurmond, which instituted the crack vs. powder sentencing disparity. Biden also wrote the notorious 1994 Crime Bill that made America by far the world leader in incarceration. The police and judicial system make the vast majority of their trvenue from drug prohibition, so nothing will change until drugs are legalized.

An old High School friend is a guard at that prison. Being around the worse humanity has to offer every day for years has an effect on them. They despise the inmates as disgusting trash and even project that onto normal society. He actually told me that he has no faith in humanity, and he was one heck of a good guy back in high school that everyone really liked. I was shocked at how that place had changed him.

He should get another job if it bothered him that much. In 2011 I got paid 121k annually. I left that job in 2013 for a job where I would get paid 86k annually. That's a big pay dip. But the job I was getting paid more. It was very stressful and I worked around 60 hours a week. No matter how hard I worked. The big fellows in the company would make me do more and not once said good job. I was so stressed out. I would come home mad. And it interfered in my family life. My kids wouldn't want to be around me. When I gave my resignation. They tried so hard to keep me. Even offering me 11K more annually. I said no. I told them I hope you don't treat the next person like you did me. Almost a decade later. My house is paid off and I only work 25 hours a week. And my previous job. They had to hire two people to do the job they had me doing. Because it was a two man job. They rather pay one guy 132K. Than to hire two people and pay them 90k each. They got a good two years out of me though.

@@robertbaldwin298 hopefully. That takes a big toll on you mentally and changes who you are as a person if you are not the type of person to handle pressure. In my case, it was bothering me so much that they were making me do there job and they were getting paid double of what I made. When I finally got to a point where I felt as if I was going to physically assault one of the higher ranked people. If they came up to me disrespectfully one more time to tell me to do there job. That's when I knew I had to leave. I have never gotten in a physical altercation in my life. I always avoided it. But the way they talked to me got me that frustrated. So I resigned. I am not a violent person. When I felt the urge to hit one of them. I knew that was a sign from God to quit. God made my life easier after that

I know. I was arrested for being drunk in public and in the cell, the young guard jumped in my face and told me to back up and enticed a fight with me. I got out of there as fast as I could, I am never going back to jail again. I got treated like I was the worst of society and I needed to get jumped by guards. The guards can kill you when you are locked up and all they have to so is lie and say you were trying to attack them and or something that would put the guards life at risk

@Cobra Denn yeah that's how it is. Especially with the drugs too. Someone is gonna snitch if they feel like their sack or whatever else they are trying to buy isn't big enough. Or they try and scam with the green dot cards. Idk where your friend went to prison at but I was in Alabama. There are more black girls than white down here, so another thing was the black girls would debow the white girls stuff alot too 😂. I'm mixed but the one drop rule still applies here in Bama so I'm black fr. But thats why women can't win in the real world too. They too busy being jealous and trying to one up a bitch that they think is doing better than themselves. Idk why some women can't stay in their own lanes and worry about their own issues 🙃

Corruption in prisons will never stop. The reason why is because, people see mostly everyone there as the worst people in society. So they don't care or have little sympathy for what goes on behind the walls of the facility. Even if it's wrong or illegal too. The guards and correction officers could be just as bad as the inmates themselves. However, if a proper investigation and or outside authorities aren't placed in secret to keep these institutions safe and honest then it's a lost cause.

I seen it plenty of times. The CO's would put you in a Cell with a Opp(enemy) or release you to the wrong yard or day room. Or the most common, they would pop your cell door & your enemy rush (attack) You....frfr, the Correctional Officers is more corrupt then the convicts. I had 2 of My own phones, a tablet, My Rolex & Chain. I sold at least 1,000 phones, pounds of dro (weed), at latest half a brick of dog food (H) & etc...The CO's was even telling Us who was snitching in Prison....For My Bday we had bottles of Gold bottles, I had EVERYTHING. Proverbs 4:14-22 Do not enter the path of the wicked, And do not walk in the way of evil. Avoid it, do not travel on it; Turn away from it and pass on. For they do not sleep unless they have done evil; And their sleep is taken away unless they make someone fall. For they eat the bread of wickedness, And drink the wine of violence. But the path of the just is like the shining sun, That shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness; They do not know what makes them stumble. My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
