I am not a religious man, however I have sat and listened to this man for 30 minutes speaking so passionately about his community. Unfortunately, raising concerns in 2021 from outside the Muslim community could be considered an attack, or a form of Islamophobia when in reality it couldn’t be further from the truth. Our country is watching a generation of young, Muslim men being led astray. Tempted by money and fast cars, at the expense of their communities. It’s heartbreaking that this honourable man speaking right here feels let down by the next generation. He speaks from his heart and I can feel his pain. That being said, I hope all Muslims in the U.K. and around the world have a peaceful Ramadan. 🤝
@MegaWilson823 жыл бұрын
Thank you for such a well thought out comment. Most Muslims in the UK would agree with you and there’s a growing acceptance of the problem. One of the root causes is a lack of education, which, when combined with socio-economic factors, makes selling drugs a very attractive option for young men. There’s not much else they feel they can do which will give them the money, material items and status in such a short space of time. But as Muslims we still have a lot of work to do to rid our communities of these types of people and I hope we have the courage to take the necessary steps.

Parents need to question their children where they are going late at night and if they have the fancy high cars how they got them, do some investigating rather than turn a blind eye. Sadly same Parents may be out earning money to live up to certain standards while the children are up to no good. We as a community need to stop competing with each other for bigger kotis and houses here and in Pakistan but use the money to get good education for our children. People are selling themselves for this dunya, elders going for status and positions in Pakistan and the youth on the street for again status and power. Anybody reading this who themselves is or knows their family members sell drugs etc should stop and start focusing on the hereafter. Get a normal job even if it pays less but earn HALAL to feed YOUR FAMILY AND OTHERS. All the scrummy drug dealers causing pain in others life’s will be held accountable.

I find telling people to follow a manmade ideology, when there is a real & serious problem a lot more negative. These are real problems & praying to, or following a fictitious, manmade character will not solve these problems. A large amount of the youth, do not really believe or follow Islam in their heart, if they did, these things would not be happening. But still lets keep drumming it into them from day dot, which teaches them to discriminate, teaches them hate, teaches them they are superior (when in reality they are not). And when they mature, seems a lot of them take all the negative they have learned & reject any good. But lets just keep teaching division & hate, from a book wrote by man.

In addition to the basis for making hijra in accordance with the Quran & Sunnah, we are clearly not fit to live here and are damaging the image of Islam in the process. The only Muslims to remain should be those who are firm in their beliefs and will take up the duty of giving dawah. That’s it. Spoiling the child leads to rebellion. Whether it's from the devouring mother or father- those who smother the children, encouraging them to be good followers. But my experience of Bradford and every other BAME communities in the UK. The community is deprived of correct leadership and these youngsters yearn for leadership. Their role models have now become the most blatant and shameless of society, who are actually sad to say true to themselves. Acting without fear, without guilt. By sitting on a Religious platform (and I believe the jummah gathering was traditionally political anyway) we can highlight the problem and it's solutions however to shame them into bowing before religious rhetoric is an innocent failing.. from yet again a lack of correct leadership.
