@lex7492

And while that’s true, I think that’s important to clarify that that fact doesn’t mean that victims should have to stay and spend their whole lives being abused. When I found out that my boyfriend of 7 years died on the morning of Christmas Eve 2018, I called into my work and told them that I wouldn’t be in today and didn’t know when I would be able to return because we have a 18 month old son together. I found out my dad died while I was getting ready to leave for school (college) and I went to class because I didn’t know what else to do. It feels weird because sometimes the things the cops or prosecution think are suspicious in these stories are things that it sounds like I may very well do. Life is weird. Grief is weird. “Normal” isn’t really a behavior you can look for in grief or trauma.

In regards to her calling into work while in shock, it was one something she could do that probably made her feel more in control and grounded in the situation, also she could have just been working on auto piolet. Also yeah for a gun shot to the head I don't think there's much she could have been able to do and probably not moving him or moving him as little as possible could have also been seen as first aid, moving him improperly could of made things worse.

What really makes me sick is that they focused so much on her “affair” and not the fact that her husband was a total POS who systematically broke down this poor women over time. Being a survivor of an abusive relationship, I would never blame her for finally snapping. The only thing that kept me from physically lashing out at my abuser was because I didn’t know what would happen to my dog if I had to go to jail. I couldn’t do that to my dog. We had already suffered so much together at the hands of our abuser. He wouldn’t have know why his mommy was gone.

I always think about the poor nurse who just wants to go home. Nurses can't leave until they have coverage. Also, you can't just leave because you can be charged with abandonment. As a nurse I know someone who's just worked a 12.5hr shift just wants to go home. If I was in that situation I would probably call in too so they could find a replacement. A semi truck hit me on my way to work one morning. My car was totaled and I was in some shock afterwards. Personally, the husband reminds me of my grandpa and he shot himself in the leg and made it look like my grandma did it. He was abusing her for years. He ran over her legs with his car, he held a shot gun to her multiple times, he was always accusing her of cheating, he choked her and so many other things. My grandma finally got to a point where she found a safe way to leave. That's when my grandpa shot himself and my grandma went to jail for 3 months until her trial and they found her innocent. The only reason she was found innocent was because she had an alibi, she wasn't even in the same city at the time and the fact that they held her in jail was freaking ridiculous. Other than that it looked so convincing and all of the evidence lined up to look like someone else shot him. But I'm willing to admit that I'm biased, and my judgment is based on personal experience and it might not apply to this situation.

Ok but Nurses have to call in sick even if they are on their death bed.

As far as I know, you have to call in at any job if you're sick and aren't coming in or else you get fired for no call, no show.

@@terrigaines1812 but nurses can't leave until they have coverage. You can't just leave because you can be charged with abandonment. As a nurse I know someone who's just worked a 12.5hr shift just wants to go home. If I was in that situation I would probably call in too so they could find a replacement. A semi truck hit me on my way to work one morning. My first call wasn't the police or my husband, I called my work to tell them I wasn't coming in. 🤷

I have seen this one a few times and somehow today is the first time I've noticed the Disclaimer on DV. I REALLY appreciate that, I wish more people would do that. I had a husband a lot like Scott but far, far worse. Like Scott, this guy began with accusing me of infidelity, of getting down with everyone from the green grocer clerk to my dad.... he called me ALL the names, in front of the kids. Also, isolating me from friends and family. I wasn't allowed to work. Couldn't do anything, without the threat of punishment upon return. . . I left, eventually . Which brings me to my second kudos for Bailey... its so great that you are irked by the "why didn't you just leave? " blah, blah, blah..... youre appreciated!

When you said it was suspicious that she called into work I remembered that one night in high school my mom who is a nurse fell down the stairs and ended up breaking some ribs when she was taking laundry down to the washing machine and on the ambulance stretcher she told us to call her work and tell them she wouldn’t make it lol AND they tried to argue with us and say we were lying!!! we told them she would be admitted to the hospital that night and if they wanted to check they were more than welcome. Addicted to these videos!! 👍

I feel like Tracy's real motive was to free herself of the chronic emotional and verbal abuse from her control freak isolationist husband, who was even trying to turn her children against her. It sounds like she had enough, and gave her husband exactly what he probably was planning on doing to her.
