What the police want is for the suspect to come clean. They want them to be accountable and if they won't then the evidence will. The police is kind of like the immune system in that they have to recognise threats and disarm them. I spoke to a police officer once because I got into a problematic situation. Not going to go into the details. But I said, "I think it's unfortunate that the police think of the worst in people". To which she said, "I agree with you".

His only real crime was knowing a terrible person. He stayed quiet to protect his grandmother. It would be easy to condemn him, so easy considering the gravity of what happened, but if someone l loved was threatened and I knew they were cold blooded, I don’t know how I’d react, hopefully none of us will ever have to find out.

I don’t know if he was unwillingly present or not but I feel that his guilt and remorse is genuine. And you have to give him props for coming forward to the police, and doing so despite being threatened and knowing that there are dangerous people involved. Don’t get me wrong, he made bad decisions, bad ‘friends’, and he may be lying about his lack of involvement but he could have stayed quiet. But he didn’t. It doesn’t change what happened to an innocent little boy but I think it deserves some acknowledgement

Obviously I’m here to watch this and I find first and foremost that justice should be served, but I’m puzzled by these releases of interrogation videos of cooperating defendants risks retaliation and discourages future cooperation. This weakens investigations and public safety. We need strict redaction standards, better witness protection, and clear rules on release timing-without these, we undermine justice itself.

I don’t have any other information than what’s in this video and I’m not yet finished watching it. But I also wonder the wisdom /repercussions about making people’s testimonies public, other than what’s televised during court proceedings.

Well it’s going to be part of all individual cases that are involved. All evidence is presented in court and this is a major key piece of evidence. Court records are public records. Being around this type of crowd I’m sure he is aware of the consequences of his actions of speaking with police, yet they do tend to protect these ones a bit more knowing he helped solve their case.

They don’t have to come back another day and take more time etc. They would prefer not to wait regardless of peoples rights, they want to wrap things up quickly. Quick, quick, they want to get it over with & “win”. Not that I agree with it, just seems to be the pattern with American detectives in these types of videos. Chance to close the case now verses later, they will prefer the person in question talks now. Not later.

He didn't snitch, but it was a gang related crime. The other gang was actually at fault. The other gang members uncle was a cop at the crime scene.....I wrote a letter to the court and told the whole story, the judge acutely read my letter in the courtroom. It was so rigged, my cousins son went to prison. I paid a lawyer 10,000. Dollars to fight it and he took a plea without fighting it. Courts are a bad joke.

He hangs out with his roommate most of the time except for when he's getting into vehicles with very bad people that everyone knows are capable of very bad things. Why would you even get into a vehicle with people like this? Why would you even associate with someone who calls themselves " risk "? Life is not difficult. The universe is not out to get us. We make bad decisions. If this man is telling the truth, he should have listened to his gut. There's a right way to do this, and the wrong way. As long as you do the next right thing and you go with the flow and you do it you're supposed to do, everything works out. But when you make decisions like this, you have no idea what's going to happen. Because you have stepped out of the flow into the chaos.

But any way, the fake smile from a police officer isn't an issue to a suspect when the suspect genuinely has the truth on their side. If the fake smile from a police officer is an issue, then talk to them over the telephone. Given the suspect's position, I think they should have gotten a lawyer. By the way, the people in the jury box are supposed to be listening and viewing the facts of the story that were developed from the moment of the incident to that part of the trial in the criminal justice system.
