Apparently she was very nervous about shooting this scene. I have no idea why because she did an amazing job. So sad we lost her so soon. A true Canadian icon!

I've never seen Colleen Dewhurst in anything that she didn't knock out of the park. In this show she was just perfect as Murphy's Mother. When she passed away while Murphy's character was pregnant, a small FM station that I listened to had a little contest as to what would be the baby's name. I won. Naming it after the Grandmother, Avery it could be a boys or a girls name.

The two of them had great chemistry. It's sad that we lost Colleen Dewhurst so soon - they could have written many more special episodes for her.

A wonderful Canadian actor. We do have some outstanding actors
@BreannaMae Жыл бұрын
@@cherihoward2323 You really do! I would go as far as saying that out of all the actors in Hollywood, the best ones seem to be Canadians! Despite being American, I grew up watching a lot of the shows and movies that were produced by Sullivan Entertainment. Anne of Green Gables, Anne of Avonlea, Road to Avonlea, etc., were all a huge part of my childhood and teen years!

Colleen Dewhurst just naturally commanded attention in her personal life as well as in her acting career, and I agree with Kelly LaFlash, we lost Ms. Dewhurst far too soon.

I can’t think of any actresses that could better portray Murphy’s mother than Colleen Dewhurst.

Dewhurst was planned to become a major recurring character in the season following her death. Murphy's parents were supposed to have a dramatic love affair in Murphy's house... So sad that never happened
