They are the best mic arms for sure. I've tried a few. I currently use the high profile arm, but it intrudes a bit much on my webcam space. Will try the low-profile. I use it with the Shure MV7 for Zoom/Teams/etc. meetings.

i got the version 2 low profile mic arm. it has a knob so you don't need to use the allen wrench to adjust the height

@@aodventures best buy. it doesn't say version 2 on the website and i don't think it does on the box. you just have to buy it, open it, and check if it has the knob. i'm sure elgato are only selling v2 now

I'm only 2 minutes in so far but I want to say thank you for this video! I'm currently using the Blue Compass with the Wave 1 and the arm just does not hold position, Lucky I haven't had it 2 years yet and amazon have offered a full refund. I was pretty excited to discover that elgato made an arm for this :)

Question from a local broadcaster We are looking for new Mic Arms in our local studio. This studio is used for about 15-20 hours a week. Would these Elgato arms be feasible for us? We are using Rode Broadcaster microphones which are 577 grams

The low profile one I just bought has a plastic wingnut at the 1st elbow, yours does not. It seems mine is an older model and yours has a spring within it, damn. Mine is so loud when I have to tighten the nut and doesn't stay in place unless it's tightened. Sending this back for sure.

I have a support bar running along the bottom of my desk near the edge that's a little bit less than 1 inch wide, do you think a mic arm would stay secure on the support bar?

i own the low profile arm. it's great and recommended, BUT i wish the magnetic plates could lock into place because i find that my xlr cable yeets them off when i adjust the height of the arm. and likewise i wish the two arm pieces could lock together as well because i sometimes yoink the entire thing in half when trying to adjust the position.

Maybe some double sided tape could keep them together, but yeah would be cool to have them lock in instead of just hold with a magnet… ❤

Great video! Just ordered the wave regular one. Do you know if we need to get that extension piece from Shure for the SM7B so the cable doesn't get messed up, or do not need that for the Elgato? I know for all the other ones out there, seems like that was always suggested. Would love to know, I don't see it yours here so I'm assuming not? Keep up the great work!
