Murad biggest bad luck was that he did not have a strong concubine, like Turhan, and a strong vizier, like Koprullu!

Is that based from the series? Because irl Ayse was powerful in some way. And Turhan wasn't as in the series, it was totally different. Actually if we compare with the real history, Handan and Ayse were more like show version Turhan irl, while Turhan was calm ,sensitive ,shy person and protective mother( excatly like Defne Hatun from MC).

He brought that on himself & don’t forget Kosem trained Turhan like Safiye trained her. Unlike Suleiyman and Ahmed, Murad never trusts his significant others (Ayse or Farya) to help with matters of state matter & he never confides in them. Then he follows Silahatar’s bad advice & unnecessarily starts a war with Kosem, but he fails to protect Farya - when she would have been one of his most loyal allies.

@@drfhgs428understood that handan was powerful otherwise she wouldn’t have been successful in making her only son succeed to the throne despite halime’s presence

unless it wasn't clear by this he preferred men irl and never fully trusted/loved anyone after musa. he was turned paranoid and saw everyone as his mother's agent - which he wasnt wrong in

@@CadwallonMawr farya is fictional. and this clearly explains why he didnt trust any of his significant others. he was dying and thinking about musa's pretty face which brightened his day like the sun like wink wink iykyk come on people

Sad to see Halil Pasha executed here. He was a good man and one of the states most capable & loyal Pashas. Very under appreciated. And unlike Kermankes he never murdered innocents.

yes. sleeping with their male comrades was a common thing among all ottoman sultans (i.e. mehmed and radu) and was not really considered as an issue as long as the sultan took the "active" position. musa wasn't even the first boy kösem sent to distract murad sexually - she knew his son's preference for men. but then they really did fell in love with murad being known to be the "passive" one. which made the janissaries not respect him and call him effeminate and womanly. so they killed musa the first chance they got (and it happened in front of murad's eyes as per kösem's orders, he wasn't behind a closed door as depicted here, he was forced to watch). and from then on to this day murad IV is considered to be the cruelest and the most violent of all the ottoman sultans. sadly this is the furthest turkish tv can allude to due to self-censorship of lgbt characters/storylines. I am surprised they even uttered musa's name let alone cast somebody to play him. brave actors - all three.
