Musafir hoon yaaron from Parichay (1972) is 50+ years old song but it will forever remain young and evergreen. Written by Gulzar and playback by Kishore Kumar may be a Milestone song of Kishore Da and R.D. Burman. It was just first movie of all 3 - RD, Gulzar, Kishoreda. Triple century in a debut match. Note just at the start how RD Burman's foot tapping music synchronises with horse's tapping. simply mind blowing. Impossible to say whether the lyrics are good, or composition is great or the singer Kishoreda sang his heart out. Same good feeling you get again and again every time you see/listen to this song since this it released on 19th Oct 1972. Every word in this song is used as a metaphor of life and I can not find any other song as motivating as this one. Musafir, Din, Raat, Shaam ,Raah, Mudana,Judna etc simply great Gulzar sahab. It keeps telling meaning of life is to move forward and forward. One should not stop and/or don't move back whatever life gives you. RD composed this song just after his divorce with Rita Patel. True story....It was a hot day in the month of may. I was going through the rikshaw to take photocopies of notes.When I sat in the rikshaw,suddenly this song comes in my mind but only images. I was trying to sing this song but was not able to remember the lyrics.I was trying very hard to remember the lyrics but I was able to remember only the images of Jitendra,sitting in the tanga and singing this song.After some time when I reached the stationery shop for photocopies...I was shocked to listen the same song was being played at stationery shop..what a coincidence😮

Yes....Parichay - The 1972 Movie directed by Gulzar wherein Jeetendra, Jaya Bhaduri were in lead roles; Sanjeev Kumar, Vinod Khanna have given special appearances and the music was composed by Rahul Dev Burman. The film was said to be a originated from a Novel in Bengali - Rangeen Uttarain by Raj Kumar Maitra though inspired by the 1965 movie -The Sound of Music. All music was composed by Rahul Dev Burman and lyrics were penned by Gulzar. This song "Musafir Hoon Yaroon" was listed at #25 in the Binaca Geetmala annual list 1973 and was considered to be one of the most loved filmi songs of all time. I did listen this song first from a 'record' played in the the HMV Fiesta Popular ; Saw the Film after a couple of years in TV- DD at Chennai !
