Antagonist supersets get you in and out of the gym. They don't work as well when you hit the same muscles in the 2 exercises

Regarding time under tension, what about focusing on explosive concentric and slow eccentric movement? I have heard a lot of experts that this is the best way to perform any rep to efficiently maximize time under tension? What is your advice?

I’m surprised BFR is on here. I’ve been doing it for months now and definitely increased in size compared to reg weight lifting. Low weights and high reps until failure with the bands on is OP

I am with you. I have been doing BFR for the last four months due to tennis and golfers elbow in my right arm. My arms have grown more in that time than they have in years. It has been a very effective method for me while sparing my elbows.

Some of us get cheap, sugar laden, low quality cocoa. Others get a box of Godiva, and a few even get handcrafted chocolates each one aimed at your specific, individual tastes. It’s rare that our box changes. We can be lucky our parents didn’t plant Tabasco in them.

Occlusion training has been used as early as the 60s for hemi stroke patients for physical therapy once active ROM is regained. Multiple studies over the decades have shown that just AROM with occlusion training not only causes an increase in strength but hypertrophy as well.

Going to have to disagree with most of these assumptions. The history of bodybuilding has shown us that the guys doing the work and gathering anecdotal evidence were nearly always decades ahead of the "science". If you've used any of these and they seemed to work, then they probably did

Sorry, but have to completely disagree with the last point on deliberately slowing down movements. After breaking my arm I git back into training, but because I didn't want to damage my recovery I did the movements a bit slower (2 seconds up, 2 seconds down). Before I trained like that my biceps maxed out at 15.5 inches. Currently they're nearly 17! Way bigger than they've been before and I'm 41 years old. Quads and chest measurements are all noticeably improved and I'm very slightly less bodyfat now than before the break. I'm not sure whether I've been eating or sleeping better tbh though or if there's something else that I'm doing differently, or just metabolism slowing down.

Oh wow! I totally did not know any of this until I watched this video. Now, I've done 4 out of 5 of these sometime in my past, all except the 1st one. I personally thought that one was by far the worst for sure. Number 4 pre exhaust training was a little over my head and harder for me to comprehend, but if I watch that part from 8:40 to 10:15, eventually I'll grasp on to that. Thank you for this video! 👍👌🤘🦵💪

It's helpful if you only have light weights available as well. This style got pretty popular during the covid lockdowns. Still check with a physician first but I don't think it's really that dangerous unless you're like, completely cutting off circulation. You still need actual blood flow.

Love the vids - agree almost 100% except I would say concentrating on your eccentric motion is still important. True, if you slow your concentric and eccentric motion too much, you’ll experience fatigue that reduces effective reps. However, it’s just as bad or worse to grab a weight that’s too heavy and it’s all you can do to get it up, and then you completely ignore the eccentric movement by letting it drop quickly, just to use momentum (i.e. bouncing the bar off your chest in a bench press) to help you get the too-heavy weight back up. Lower the weight and use medium speed for both up/down motions and concentrate on keeping your form locked and intact. Thanks again for the video!

BFR can definitely be dangerous with circulation etc. Surprised time under tension is in there though.

What about dropsets? Or repeating the same exercise with just about 20 secs of resting in between? Is this last one considered a compound set?
