It's not his range that amazes me...it's his control. Ok i lied. His chest range is freaking ridiculous but his falsetto range anyone can achieve. Not trying to downplay his amazingness just don't let his range discourage you. As for his control...good luck cause what he has exceeds practice and experience. Pure talent.

finaly, someone who actualy knows what theyre talking about. no matter what you class yourself as, it makes no difference to your potential range. its just what you feel most comfortable singing and can do most accurately . impressive falsetto btw :) i can occasionally force myself high enough for this (G#5) but its only 50-50 and all the lyrical meaning goes above about C flat 5...

It's a little bit of both. You can be taught it, but you have to have a very good teacher to learn it. It does help if your boive is naturally prepared for that, but it's not necessary. Some people even lose it. Then people like my mother have to teach them how to do it again.
