Fun fact, Muse used Steven Madaio to record the trumpets, who you guessed it, was the trumpet player for Stevie Wonder in the 70s. So you are spot on with your comparison.

The thing i love about Muse is the incredible difference between their tracks. People who are not so into them, think they are an alternative rock band. Wich their are, but they also switch from rock to pop, electronic and even simphonic music. Panic station is just another beautiful experiment outside their comfort zone

Hey Dave you're the living proof of what I always say "Muse is not for everyone but is for everyone" and what I mean is they have at least one song for you . Whatever type of music you like I'm sure if you look for it you will find a song you will like from them. They have done so many things even dubstep (using their instruments) so yeah. Great review

Nice reaction. As a bass player myself, I enjoy the simplicity of the bass line, while managing to really provide movement and groove. I play along to this often.

first time I ever heard this I thought "Stevie Wonder" too. And Muse does this with every genre--even if you don't like it the genre, you like this version of it. Every one. I hate disco. I don't like R and B . I don't like dubstep. I don't dislike but I don't listen to Latin music. But Muse does all of that and always make it sound AWESOME.

@JDC7013 жыл бұрын
I don't think it's fair to put fans in quotes here. Fans don't have to like everything. I think the problem with The 2nd Law is that it just doesn't match the quality of everything before as an album. But that's not to say it doesn't have some absolute bangers! It's always going to be that way with Muse because they've dabbled with such varying styles. This isn't me saying T2L is bad, it's more that the albums prior were hard to top as a whole and Muse got increasingly ambitious. Gotta love them for it though, even if it doesn't strike a chord with everyone. I hadn't much enjoyed some of their releases buy adore Simulation Theory where many hate it... But it works because it flows so brilliantly imo. T2L lacked that flow
@Dan-os9kg3 жыл бұрын
@@JDC701 interesting but that's your view. I adore 2nd law but indifferent to simulation theory. Funny how different muse fans have differing opinions isn't it? I liked your post. Debated the issue but no vitriol, just honest opinions 👏🏻
@Dan-os9kg3 жыл бұрын
@@JDC701 BTW I started to really love the second law more than before when I watched the making of. Don't know if you've seen that but interesting background to the craft of making the album.
@JDC7013 жыл бұрын
@@Dan-os9kg the world's too bad a place to add more vitriol! :) I just didn't find the user above putting fans into quotes was really called for. I've been a big fan for probably around 18 years now and have managed to catch the band about 8 times live. I had actually watched the making of, and I got the deluxe vinyl set for T2L after how good the same box was for The Resistance. My problem with it is rooted in the fact I like the full album experience and though I really enjoy the vast majority of songs on T2L it just doesn't flow right for me. I don't dislike it though, and the tour for the album was great fun! I'll not ever hate a band after a poor release though, and I love that Muse keep changing it up but still maintain what makes them great. Not many bands can do that!
