Seeing empty streets, people with masks around the city, ambulances and business activity completely absent was such a SURREAL experience. (I want to clarify I'm not saying this with a giddy tone or saying the pandemic was a good thing that happened. I'm only talking about how intense the feeling was and made a comparison to the film due to its similarity).

One of the many reasons that I enjoy Muse so much: their ability to have variation. I love all the happy stuff, the epic stuff and the ridiculous stuff, but their sad songs are just beautiful. Unlike many songs that are meant to be sad produced nowadays, sad songs by Muse are never moany, they never give you the idea that it's just a song about how awful life is. Instead, they are tastefully sad, and bound to make you cry out of either sheer shock, fear or sadness, but it's not depressing. You just have that one moment when you watch this video and you think about it and it's just shocking, really. :oo :D We love you Muse. :3

Scanning the other comments, all I can see is stuff about how cool this song is, how cool the effects are, and how this song was in World War Z. I don't know if any of you actually realize the scary truth behind this song. Granted, the video is an artist's depiction of an event we can never comprehend (and quite possibly, never see). Regardless, this is a future we are heading toward. If you pay attention to the song preceding this one, The 2nd Law: Unsustainable, the message in that is that we, as the human race, are destroying our home. I wouldn't say I'm super-green, but there are definitely things we need to worry about. Please pay attention to the message Muse is trying to send us. I understand that environmentalism has been heard of unfavorably, but there are a lot of very simple things you can do that can save the planet. I'm not asking you to change anything. I'm just asking that you think more about this topic because we are heading down an unsustainable path, and, quite frankly, it scares the hell out of me.

So much arrogance in this line: "a lot of very simple things you can do that can save the planet". Not trying to offend or anything, this line is thrown very often in today's media/everyday lives. But still, us trying to save the planet is like our gut bacteria trying to save our own body. The planet has been through worse than us and recovered, but like every other entity in the universe, it has a life span and all we are doing is burning through that life span as fast as possible, as mister Hitler puts it, we have to hightail it outta here A.S.A.P.

In an isolated system the entropy can only increase indeed. That's why everytime I hear someone say "why go to space, there are plenty of things to fix here on Earth first" is basically ignorance. If we focus on fixing things here on Earth, this has no end. In fact it will get worse as time passes. Why couldn't we just attempt to both?

I see it as these people who were created within a system that they cannot leave and they grow and develop into thinking that they are real and that they are human. When it is time to reset the project, they do not want to. They start to run away from the thing that would result in resetting them or in their case ( what they think) killing them.

This melody is beautiful and although it is ironic it harmonizes very well all the disasters we have been doing throughout the existence of humanity. Muse always amazing with her beautiful melodies I just love them

This song gives me 2000's vibes. Whenever I listen to this song, I feel the 90s-2000s that I have never experienced.We are the wrong generation born at the wrong time, I wish I was young in the 90s-2000s when technology took over so many people and didn't break people apart.

The 2nd Law! 🥀 Perhaps their most emotional, unique, and personal album. I don't know why it's like the "forgotten" album. I love and hate this album at the same time because of the personal factor. I'm just now playing it after a decade....
@andreahough2077 Жыл бұрын
I’ve been a fan of Muse since Origin of Symmetry, and have all the tours since then besides The 2nd Law tour. I disliked this album so much I wasn’t at all interested in seeing it live. Even my younger brother (who got into Muse from listening to me listening them) tried to get me into this album back when it very first came out. I wasn’t having any of it! “Too dubstep for me”. Only last year or so, when my other half found this album all scratched up in a car he washed, did we start to listen to it. I remember us sitting in the car that day, on the drive outside our house listening to it for nearly the whole album whilst saying to each “you know this is really good!” We love it now. I absolutely cannot believe we didn’t appreciate it sooner and I’m kicking myself for missing the tour. What was I thinking?!
@tutsybassista Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I don't get it. I loved it even though I was going through postpartum psychosis after my 2nd daughter. I was in and out of the hospital, forced to take drugs or lose your kids, and my then husband got me that album cuz my girls were forced to go to daycare. They just assumed I was gonna be a killing machine. The Drones concert had 1 bad intension, but it failed. Got forced to divorce in 2016, and been fine since. Except from 2010-2016, I can't remember almost nothing! It sucks. I love the album I hate. So, it's bizarre my youngest daughter is pushing me to listen to this album again. I really like the Mathness alternate version of Madness....

As a non biased Muse fan, impartial to any previous albums, I absolutely think The 2nd Law doesn't deserve half the crap it gets for being an 'inferior' Muse album. I personally feel it's a great collection of songs marred only by one or two missteps (the dub-step experiments were a bit cheesy and spoiled the mood). This song however ties together the whole album's bleak message beautifully and I think it marks the peak of their most electronic focused music.

i love this entire album. panic station is an instant-Pavlovic dance song, and Madness is similarly a must-sing. Love it. LOVE it. So when I say this is actually my favorite of them all, I mean it. does something to smooth the hackles and quiet the hindbrain. i am so, so glad this exists.

Amazing soundtrack by Muse. Not sure if you agree but this line that is following people on the video is actually time we have in our lives! We dont have much time, this is why you need to make the most of it. Do what you like, and follow your passion. At the end the of the video that women embraces it, which is the right thing to do. But that is just my interpretation and a message.
